Coming to the most significant change that you will actually find in the 2017 RR Sport, the new updated SUV now gets a 2.0 Litre, four cylinder, ingenium diesel engine which also actually makes it the first Land Rover SUV to sport a 2.0 Liter diesel unit. This engine is capable of churning out about 240 Ps of peak power and an equally impressive 500n Nm of torque. This engine is capable of returning an impressive fuel efficiency of 45.6 mpg which translates to about 19 kmpl, this particular engine also emits 164g/km which is also an improvement of 10 percent than the outgoing engine.
The reason why the smaller engine is able to generate so much power is because the engine now gets a second turbocharger. This engine also happens to be JLR’s only engine which features sequential turbo chargers. RIDE AND HANDLING
The 2017 R Sport gets two new advanced offroading technology which comes in the form of a Low Traction Launch which will help the driver to pull away from a low traction area especially when the car is in standstill position. This technology can be selected manually from the central toucshcsreen menu. The other technology offered is the enhanced All-Terrain Info Centre which displays plenty of important information when the vehicle is being driven offroad. These information’s include direction of the front wheels and the status of the Wade Sensing system. This system also includes Drive assist features as well which uses vehicle’s surround cameras to help the driver manoeuvre their vehicle at low speeds.
The 2017 RR Sport also gets plenty of advanced safety features installed however some of the new features include Rear Park Distance Control, Cruise Control, Speed Limiter and Lane Departure Warning. The 2017 model also features Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) which also joins the list. This system monitor works by alerting and warning the driver if it is on the verge of collision before actually applying the brakes automatically if the driver fails to apply the brakes.
The optional driver package also contains plenty of standard features as well which includes Blind Spot Monitor, Traffic Sign Recognition and Reverse Traffic Detection. The new generation Q7 was launched last year and it has been launched in the Indian market with a single 3.0 litre TDI unit which is capable of producing about 272 Bhp of peak power and 600 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to an eight speed tiptronic transmission.
