EXTERIOR

The Dynamic model in particular has received an updated grille with side vents, bonnet vents, new mirror caps and bonnet and tailgate script. Towards the rear it has received a red sporty badge and also matching Red brake callipers. These changes actually help set the Dynamic variant apart from the rest of the variants.
The 2017 Autobiography Dynamic model in particular will get a new bright Red pack in particular. This pack consists of Atlas Silver front grille mesh and Atlas Silver bonnet mesh.

Apart from these major changes in these particular variants the rest of the RR Sport variants in particular haven’t received much of a change on their exterior. There is no doubt in the fact that the new RR Sport looks quite modern and gets a strong and muscular design DNA. Compared to the standard Range Rover the RR Sport is also slightly shorter, lower and weighs almost 100 kilograms less.

INTERIOR

Nothing much has changed inside the 2017 model but it has received plenty of new technologies. The 2017 RR Sport gets a bigger 10 inch touchscreen now so that the passengers can view and use it without any hustle. This touchscreen has tablet like feature so you can actually pinch in to zoom in and out of the applications and maps. The entire system is powered by Land Rover’s InControl Touch Pro technology. The system also features smoother controls and wider range of connectivity features and apps. The updates system now offers bespoke apps for functions such as music playback, contacts and calendars that are mirrored on the central touchscreen when the passenger or the driver connect their smartphone to the vehicle. What is even more interesting is also the fact that owner now can actually download various apps for their vehicle from the new Pro service system.

As far as the rest of the interior is concerned although it has not received any significant change but you will get some extra optional colour and material choices for the interior.

DRIVETRAIN

Coming to the most significant change that you will actually find in the 2017 RR Sport, the new updated SUV now gets a 2.0 Litre, four cylinder, ingenium diesel engine which also actually makes it the first Land Rover SUV to sport a 2.0 Liter diesel unit. This engine is capable of churning out about 240 Ps of peak power and an equally impressive 500n Nm of torque. This engine is capable of returning an impressive fuel efficiency of 45.6 mpg which translates to about 19 kmpl, this particular engine also emits 164g/km which is also an improvement of 10 percent than the outgoing engine.

The reason why the smaller engine is able to generate so much power is because the engine now gets a second turbocharger. This engine also happens to be JLR’s only engine which features sequential turbo chargers. The only way one can differentiate it from the rest of the other powerful engines is that it will come fitted with a twin exhaust on single side while the other powerful variants gets single exhaust on each side of the rear bumper. All engines will be paired with the advanced electronically controlled ZF 8HP70 eight-speed automatic gearbox

Below provided is the list of engines available with the 2017 Range Rover Sport model.

Engine Cylinders Power (PS) Torque (Nm)

The 2017 model also features Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) which also joins the list. This system monitor works by alerting and warning the driver if it is on the verge of collision before actually applying the brakes automatically if the driver fails to apply the brakes.

The optional driver package also contains plenty of standard features as well which includes Blind Spot Monitor, Traffic Sign Recognition and Reverse Traffic Detection. It also gets an intelligent speed limiter as well which actually uses traffic signs to actually read speeds limiters to automatically reduce speeds.

We still haven’t yet found out why did Land Rover actually created such a wild production SUV in the form of the Range Rover Sport SVR. I mean SUV’s are built to take on the rough terrains which are not accessible by any other usual four wheeled vehicles and they actually don’t have to be fast only tough enough to take on roads or no roads. But the Range Rover Sport SVR proved us all wrong. This wild beast can not only handle bad terrains but actually can give nightmares to many sportscars with its incredibly fast acceleration.

Just imagine with all the 550 Hp of peak power this heavy SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h mark in just 4.7 seconds that is almost equal to the time that the Porsche Cayman 718 takes to reach the three digit speeds. Since its introducing back in 2015 the RR SVR has been setting records. Recently Land Rover tested their wild SUV’s acceleration capability in 6 completely different terrains.

The Range Rovers first test was to take on the Europe’s fastest racing circuit, Rockingham Motor Speedway in Corby, UK. The second test was performed on a much tougher wet grass surface. The third test was performed on gravel surface. The fourth test was performed on Mud and Ruts. The last two terrain tests were performed on Pendine Sands at Carmarthen Bay in South Wales while the final test was not actually dependent on speed but something little different which tested the SUV’s Rock crawl mode.

Nine James Bond Cars Stolen Which Were Prepared For Filming Movie "Spectre"

According to the reports online apparently 5 of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SUV’s were stolen in Germany while they were being transported to the filming location in Alps. These Range Rover Sport SUV’s were specially designed by the specialist of the Land Rover Training Centre Neuss near Dusseldorf for the “Spectre” movie. Now adding more insult to the injury is the fact that apart from these 5 RR SUV’s which were being transported to the filming location in Alps there were 4 other cars which too were kept for the filming purpose also got stolen at the same time. Even the German Law Enforcement teams were unable to trace those persons who are behind this crime.

According to the reports a total of 9 cars worth around 800,000 Euros (around INR. 60, 686760) were stolen which is definitely is a big loss for the production team of the new upcoming Bond movie “Spectre”. Only previous week we reported about the new James Bond movie which is set for release in the month of October 2015 in UK and the new car that Daniel Craig A.K.A Mr. Bond will be using in this movie, the new car that MR. Bond will be using in the movie has been specially designed by Aston Martin and it is called the DB10 (Click here to learn more about the news).

Coming back to the story, this is definitely a big loss for the production team of Mr. Bond’s new movie “Spectre” because their movie shoot also have been delayed because of the unavailability of cars. Unfortunately the car theft is a Global problem and it is really a huge concern for every auto manufacturer because the cars still gets easily stolen even after securing their products with some of the most advanced anti theft technologies onboard.

They are the one who tries to invent new ways by which they can actually make their SUV a perfect offroader and also give the owners a chance to extract maximum out of their vehicle and its four-wheel drive chassis. That’s right I am talking about the iconic British auto manufacturer Land Rover and their entire Range Rover Range.

Recently Land Rover announced that their upcoming 2015 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will come with some interesting new changes both mechanical and technological as well. The mechanical changes which you will find under the hood of the new Range Rover is that instead of two turbochargers the 3.0 litre 6 cylinder TDV6 engine now will carry only a single turbocharger however when it comes to power the engine hasn’t lost any, infact the TDV6 engine still produces the same 258 Ps of peak power and 600 Nm of torque. But the result of that lost turbocharger has surely taken its toll on the engine but in a good way offcourse! The same engine actually now has an increased fuel efficiency of 8.5 percent while the RR Sport has an increased fuel efficiency of 5.7 percent.

As far as the 3.0-litre SDV6 unit is concerned it still retains the parallel-sequential turbocharging, but it now generates 306 ps of peak power and 700 Nm of torque which means that its performance figures has increased by almost 14 ps and 100 Nm respectively and this was all possible because of the calibration changes. This engine unit also too has an increased fuel efficiency figures.

Premium sports utility vehicle makers at Land Rover have launched the all-new lightened and even more capable Range Rover Sport in India. The Range Rover family has moved up a notch with the 2014 model and with that, the price to has been revised so that the base diesel now costs well over INR 1 Crore.

That’s is a lot of money for a premium SUV, but when it comes to making luxury off-roaders, folks at Land Rover are the best in the business. The previous generation of the Range Rover Sport was not quite capable as its elder sister- the Ranger Rover "proper".

It rode on low-profile road tires which did not help when the tarmac disappeared. However, it did excel when it came high speed performance on the paved surfaces. With the new, Land Rover has addressed this issue making the Range Rover Sport almost equally capable as its cousin.

Under the bonnet, you can have a considerably frugal SDV6 3.0-liter diesel engine or you have the option of a 5.0-liter Supercharged V8. Although, the new Range Rover Sport is much lighter than its previous generation, it still is a 2 tonne SUV. With the V8 monster under the hood, it does deliver what it says on the badge; "Sport", right.
