The Range Rover Evoque Crossover made its first appearance back in the year 2011 and since its launch the Evoque carried a reputation of being the perfect Crossover for those urban SUV owners who drives their vehicle mostly within the city limits and also looks for an improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. Since the very first day the Evoque was available in both three and five door disguise, recently Land Rover also decided to introduce the Convertible variant of the SUV as well.
Land Rover has also introduced a limited edition model which promises to provide the customers more choice and options in order to celebrate the sale of over 520,000 Range Rover Evoques worldwide since its launch. This car is so popular that Land Rover builds a new vehicle in every 80 seconds at their Halewood plant in the UK. Since its launch the Evoque has won more than 182 International awards worldwide.
This special ’Ember’ edition gets a bold red and black theme on its exterior and also provides more touches for those customers who want a more personalized kind of design. Apart from the exterior change Land Rover has also worked wonders inside by offering the next-generation InControl Touch Pro infotainment system. Although there are no changes made under the hood and thus this special edition Evoque is offered with the same 2.2 Litre four cylinder diesel unit.

Nothing much has changed in terms of overall design but this special edition Evoque definitely gets exterior body finished in Santorini Black body colour, while the roof gets contrasting Firenze Red color. The exterior also gets some matching exterior elements which includes front and rear tow eye covers. This special edition Evoque also gets an unique tailgate badge finished in Black, while it also gets a silver surrounding it. Talking about the badges this special edition SUV also gets ’RANGE ROVER’ lettering finished in Narvik Black on the bonnet. This letters and badges finished in different color adds more meaning to the limited edition SUV.
Other than the color and the different badges the other new design elements in this special edition Evoque includes Satin Black 20-inch alloy wheels, Black exhaust finisher, Narvik Black grille. While both the front and rear lights also has been darkened to add more definition and purposeful appearance to the SUV.
Just like the exterior the same ‘Ember’ theme has also been carried on inside this special edition Evoque as well. The seats in particular has been finished in Ebony Black, these seats also gets contrasting Pimento Red stitching as well. Apart from the seats the interior also features black and red premium carpet mats and Gloss Black trim finishes.
Apart from the comfort features the special edition Evoque also features the new and updated InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, which is faster and also more responsive. This new infotainment system was introduced with the newly launched Evoque Convertible and is now available as an option with the 2017 Model year range. This new and improved touchscreen infotainment system features a new 10.2 inch touchscreen setup and also gets customizable home screen.
The improved touchscreen can be used like a Smartphone or tablet and once can actually swipe, pan and pinch to use the zoom controls. The touchscreen provides 21:9 super-wide format and gets 1280x542 pixel resolution which is almost 80 percent increase than the standard eight toucshreen of the standard Evoque.
Under the hood this special edition Evoque gets the same 2.0 Liter, 4 cylinder, SD4 diesel unit which is capable of producing about 140 KW of peak power and 420 Nm of peak torque available at 1, 750 rpm. The engine is paired to a 9 speed automatic transmission which sends power to all the four wheels of the vehicle. The Land Rover Evoque can sprint from 0-100 km/h mark in 8.5 seconds while it can reach a top speed of 195 km/h mark which is quite impressive for a vehicle of this size.
Although the Evoque may not be a hardcore offroader like the other Land Rover vehicles but it definitely can cross some hurdles on its way and comes with an water wading depth of 500 mm.
There is a special graphite design pack which helps in enhancing the enhancing the exterior design of the Range Rover Evoque HSE Dynamic and Autobiography derivatives as well. On the exterior one can choose to install the 20-inch alloy wheels in Satin Technical Grey. While there is also an option to install the Dynamic grille in Narvik Black with a Satin Dorchester Grey Surround. The tow eye outer covers front and rear sport the same grey tone which can also be found with the Ember Limited Edition. The Graphite design pack also includes a black contrast roof, bonnet and tailgate lettering, darkened front and rear lights and Dynamic black exhaust finishers.
The customers also gets an option to choose from a new rnage of exterior color palletes as well which includes Aruba, Farallon Black, Carpathian Grey and Silicon Silver premium metallic paint finishes etc. The total of exterior color options now stands at 18.
The sales number of the Evoque SUV clearly tells its success story. This entry level Crossover from Land Rover definitely posses everything that one looks for and the most important part is that it suits ones budget. The special edition Evoque surely will be able to draw a lot of attention with its unique color combination and advanced technology provided inside. The Evoque Ember Limited Edition will be available in India and thus expect its pricing to be slightly higher than the standard SUV.
