5 luxury SUVs with 2000 cc diesel engines banned in Delhi-NCR
Delhi and NCR is the place where most of the luxury cars can be seen in entire India. Being a diesel loving country the customers based in Delhi and NCR also love to buy diesel based luxury cars. And one more thing is, when it is about cars, we Indians love the SUVs. Now coming to our topic today the luxury SUVs in India has taken a toll recently.
The Delhi government imposed a ban on the 2000 cc and above diesel engine capacitated cars in the national capital region. Due to the large diesel engine no cars carrying 2000 cc and above diesel engines are allowed for registration in Delhi and NCR. Among these three auto manufacturers, Mercedes Benz has suffered the biggest blow, as the company is the best sold brand in the region, and a large number of their cars are capacitated with 2000 cc or larger diesel engines.
Here, we will take a close look at the luxury SUVs which have been affected by the diesel ban in Delhi and NCR.

Land Rover Taxi Association of Maney Bhanjyang is the largest operator of Land Rover Taxis in the entire South East Asia. While there are some people who claims that, this is also the biggest Land Rover Taxi operator association. Keeping aside the debate and controversy; one thing is for sure that, these fleet of ageing Land Rover Series I vehicles are the "lifeline of an entirely remote area", where there is no tar topped roads, but only some rocks laid to be called as the ‘Road’.
The association is known as the Singalila Land Rover Association, and it operates a total number of 45 Land Rover Series I vehicles. Although these SUV’s are more than half a century old, but all of them still looks and performs as good as new. From the exterior, the iconic Land Rover Green badges are gone or completely faded away; instead there are aluminium plates with the iconic Land Rover symbols and the name itself. Surely those badges took the toll of travelling on the rough roads and cloud wrapped gushy wind.
The president of the Singalila Land Rover Association Mr. Kalu Tamang discussed with us, how these Land Rovers came in the region. This is surely an interesting feature which not only proves the capability of this ageing Land Rovers but also their importance for these people living in these remote areas.
