Range Rover Evoque Convertible spotted in India for first time: Spyshots
Ever thought of a SUV convertible? We also didn’t. But Land Rover made it possible when they unveiled the Range Rover Evoque Convertible last year. Interestingly, a camouflaged Evoque Convertible test mule have been spotted on a flatbed truck in India, which indicates the Land Rover is considering the Indian market seriously for launching this car in the country.
The Range Rover Evoque Convertible doesn’t look different from the Evoque facelift. The major difference between these two cars is the retractable soft top. The front bumper gets a bit of redesigning touch with the massive air vents and rectangular shaped integrated LED fog lamps. The front grille also sports a revamped look. The roof system for this car is the Z convertible system, which can be opened and closed in around 18 seconds while cruising at a speed up to 48 kmph. At the rear the new LED taillights can be seen. It comes with a boot space of 251 litres. Inside the cabin, 4 persons can seat comfortably. The interior sports a boxy shape. It gets a multifunction steering wheel, classy instrument cluster and the infotainment system at the centre console also looks very stylish.
The test mule which was spotted in India gets power from a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 240 PS peak power and 340 Nm of peak torque. The car can reach 0 – 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds with a top speed of 209 kmph. Expect the car to be launched in India sometime around later this year.

The Bespoke structures were placed before some of the iconic London locations which includes Harrods department store on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge and in notable Mayfair addresses. These particular wiresframe sculptures were designed by Land Rover’s very own Design team using advanced computer modeling to actually accurately create the shape of their upcoming Evoque convertible.
Land Rover created a total of six wire frames structures which were then positioned at different places which will give people a chance to actually see and get an idea of how this car will look in its natural environment. These 1:1 structures also have 3D wheels and even front and rear seats. These wireframes will also begin global tour to attract attention of people until Land Rover introduced the Evoque Convertible in November.
