In the season of festivities, we the petrolheads have reason to rejoice again, as in a few days 2016 edition of the Indian Auto Expo will be organized at New Delhi from 5th to 9th February, 2016. This is certainly the biggest automobile convention of Asia, organized by Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM) jointly with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) the 2016 edition of the prestigious biennial event will be bigger and better.
More than 65 automobile brands including Indian and international companies, are expected to showcase their exciting car models in the 13th edition of the event. Incidentally, in 2014 nearly 55 brands showcased their products at the event. Sadly, there will be few major brands missing this time. We will get to see some exciting new models, some new launches including world launches and hopefully a few concepts at the upcoming event.
The organizers are expecting more than 6 lakh footfall at the India Exposition Mart Ltd (IEML) in Greater Noida, resulting a 20% rise in the number of visitors. The total floor space for the event has been increased by 37240 square metres with six completely new air conditioned halls, alongside the already available eight halls, resulting the total floor space to around 79000 square metres.

The countdown has begun. We are about to leave 2015 and start our journey in the year 2016. Like every year, 2015 too brought us some stunning cars. We observed some completely new models, some new generation models and several facelift cars launched in our country. In a few months we are about to see some spectacular car launches in the country. In the year 2015, we have seen some gorgeous German luxury utility and sports models like new Audi Q7, BMW I8, and Mercedes Benz AMG GT made entry into Indian automobile market, while Swedish automaker Volvo has launched XC90, which can be called an epitome of luxury and undoubtedly one of the safest cars of the world at present. American automaker Ford has launched a rejuvenated Ford Figo, which looks absolutely stylish. Hyundai launched a stylish SUV Creta, which became an immense hit among Indians. Mahindra, undoubtedly the most popular SUV maker of the country has been at the losing end of the battle because of steep competition from other automakers. They tried to bring back their good luck by launching TUV300, a rugged looking revolutionary SUV inspired by a battle tank design. In the hatchback segment the most profound entry was in form of Renault Kwid. So many things in so little budget; imagination is possible now with Kwid.

Land Rover revealed a new Discovery Sport, which comes in dynamic design and better performance. The British luxury automobile manufacturer revealed the vehicle at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show. This new car comes named as Discovery Dynamic Sports.
The new premium luxury compact SUV comes with unique design, and stylish details and colour, which make this car distinguishing from the standard model. Beside the enhanced visual appeal, this car comes equipped with features like All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC), Gesture Tailgate. The new Discovery Sport Dynamic features a number of exterior enhancements. These features include Narvik Black exterior details, body coloured mouldings and door claddings which makes this car even more muscular. The customers get a choice of an unique new 19 inch wheel design which comes in Satin Dark Grey, or a 20 inch Gloss Black wheel. The interior of the car comes in new impressive colours and detailing, the new Dynamic design option creates a powerful and striking impression.
Apart from luxury Land Rover vehicles are known for their sheer off roading capability. The off roading capability of the Discovery Sport Dynamic is heightened by the introduction of All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) for 2016. ATPC is an advanced system which enables drivers to set and maintain a steady speed during off road driving. Developed by the Land Rover’s all terrain specialists, ATPC functions similarly to a cruise control system, and it is operational between 2 kmph and 30 kmph. The ATPC system adapts the vehicle’s behaviour according to the terrain, allowing even the novice users the control of an expert off road driver. ATPC also sports a dedicated Launch feature, which allows the vehicle to pull away smoothly and easily, even on critically low friction surfaces like ice, snow or wet grass.
Be it recession or crisis that does not really stop people from fulfilling their dreams right. It’s true that almost the whole of 2014 was definitely not the best year for the auto manufacturers of the Country but has it really stopped them from surprising the Indian car enthusiasts and customers with brand new products? Atleast I don’t think so because we have witnessed some of the exclusive launches from manufacturers like Maruti, Hyundai, Tata and even some luxury car manufacturers like Mercedes Benz, Audi and even BMW.
So definitely Indian customers cannot complain that they have been deprived of the new cars and unfortunately they have to remain satisfied with the same old products. Now as the year 2014 is coming to an end and we already have started our preparation for Christmas, it is time we take a peek into the future and take a glimpse of what the automotive industry have stored for us in the year 2015. This will perhaps also give those customers a heads up and fix their budget and decide which car they want to get for themselves or their family in the year 2015.

Land Rover unveiled their latest product the Discovery Sport at the 2014 Paris Motor show but the most interesting thing was that this SUV made its appearance in style.
A pair of Discovery Sport aboard an 80 meter barge on the river Seine marked the arrival of the iconic brand’s newest premium compact SUV. The Barge was decorated with seven pairs of brightly colored, giant-sized Wellington boots which has been present there to represent the SUV’s new 5+2 seating layout alongside Land Rovers capability to take on any extreme outdoor situations. Supermodel and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley too made a surprise appearance at this event. After the barge with the two SUV’s onboard made its appearance infront of the public it continued its journey down the River Seine and cruised past the Parisian landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame Cathedral.
The Discover Sport was first revealed at the Virgin Galactic’s Spaceport America facility in New Mexico, USA, on 3rd September, the vehicle automatically attracted attention of millions of people soon after it was revealed. The compact Discover Sport SUV is targeted mainly towards those customers who may never have considered owning a Land Rover before. Mr. Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer said that "It is quite simply the most accomplished vehicle in its segment.
With the launch of the updated Range Rover Evoque, it is clear that the boffins at Land Rover couldn’t update any aspect of the design. Why? Simply because it’s perfect. Though the car was launched way back in 2011, even today the design takes our breath away. So, they thought that it was best to stick to a design that has garnered more attention than any Range Rover has.
The launch of the Evoque in the Indian market was a very warm one with people being astounded as to how its design decimated the dreary cars that people commonly see on any road. Whenever it passed by, it was indeed quite the head turner. And since some people like to look appealing, why not do it in style with an Evoque.
Okay, we should stop talking about the design now because while some people were blown off by it, there are many others who did find some aspects of the previous Evoque quite a bit disappointing.
