The 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo has finally came to an end. We have seen plenty of concepts, fresh new models and redesigned facelift versions of the existing models. So far, the 2016 edition of the biennial Auto Expo has been the biggest and largest of its history. On the front of new vehicle launches, showcase models and concepts, this Auto Expo was the biggest. We have seen the entry of Jeep brand, iconic Ford Mustang and Japanese Godzilla aka Nissan GT-R, all made their appearance at the Auto Expo. Not only that, this was the first time when so many sport and performance cars were displayed alongside the regular ones and luxury models as well. Almost every brand has unveiled at least one single new car.

In the season of festivities, we the petrolheads have reason to rejoice again, as in a few days 2016 edition of the Indian Auto Expo will be organized at New Delhi from 5th to 9th February, 2016. This is certainly the biggest automobile convention of Asia, organized by Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM) jointly with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) the 2016 edition of the prestigious biennial event will be bigger and better.
More than 65 automobile brands including Indian and international companies, are expected to showcase their exciting car models in the 13th edition of the event. Incidentally, in 2014 nearly 55 brands showcased their products at the event. Sadly, there will be few major brands missing this time. We will get to see some exciting new models, some new launches including world launches and hopefully a few concepts at the upcoming event.
The organizers are expecting more than 6 lakh footfall at the India Exposition Mart Ltd (IEML) in Greater Noida, resulting a 20% rise in the number of visitors. The total floor space for the event has been increased by 37240 square metres with six completely new air conditioned halls, alongside the already available eight halls, resulting the total floor space to around 79000 square metres.

Land Rover is showcasing their milestone vehicle the ’Defender 2000000’ in Dubai. It will be exclusively showcased at Dubai International Motor Show before its special auction at Bonhams on 16th December, where car collectors from across the world will get a chance to bid for the iconic car.
The 2 millionth Series Land Rover and Defender was built at Solihull, UK. It was displayed in the Al Fahidi district of the city, the historical heart of Dubai, and it was showcased alongside a Series I Land Rover to represent Land Rover’s rich history and evolution through the decades. Also there was the Defender pedal car concept, a hand-built tribute to Defender’s legacy which could be a popular collector’s piece.
The Defender 2000000 will be on display at Dubai Motor Show, where interested buyers will be able to pick up a Bonhams sale catalogue also. As Land Rover is all set to stop the production of the Defender in January, 2016; the auction at Bonhams will be one of the last opportunities to buy one of the final models to be built in Solihull. The unique Defender 2000000 was built by an all star personalities to celebrate the 67 years of iconic Land Rover production.
As the next James Bond flick Spectre is gearing up for its launch worldwide, Jaguar Land Rover showcased the Spectre cars at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Three Spectre cars showcased in the event were – a Jaguar C-X75, which is the vehicle of choice for Mr. Hinx played by none other than the WWE Superstar Dave Bautista, who is the henchman of the villain in the movie, an extensively modified Land Rover Defender and a Range Rover Sport SVR. We have seen all these vehicles in the trailer teasers and the making videos of the latest Bond movie.
The Jaguar C-X75 is a sports car concept, which was first showcased at 2010 Paris Motor Show, but ultimately abandoned by Jaguar, for some unknown reason. In the movie Spectre, we have seen Mr. Hinx, played by famous actor David Bautista, chasing Bonds Aston Martin DB10 in this stunningly gorgeous and powerful car painted in Orange (Read and watch it here). In some other videos we have seen The Range Rover Sport SVR and two absolutely rugged looking Land Rover Defenders in a chasing scene, which were shot in Austrian Alps. In the previous Bond movie Skyfall, we have seen Naomie Harris aka Eve Monepenny driving a rugged looking Land Rover Defender during the initial action sequences.
Although various automobile manufacturers are grabbing attention of the automotive world in the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, but Jaguar Land Rover definitely steal away all the limelight with this showcase event at Palatial Thurn und Taxisin Frankfurt. Incidentally, this was the first time these spectacular vehicles were shown at some public event. After all, these are no ordinary cars; these are bespoke cars of the latest James Bond movie. Present in the event were David Bautista, who played a villainous role in the movie, and Naomie Harris, who is portraying the character of Eve Moneypenny.
Land Rover revealed a new Discovery Sport, which comes in dynamic design and better performance. The British luxury automobile manufacturer revealed the vehicle at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show. This new car comes named as Discovery Dynamic Sports.
The new premium luxury compact SUV comes with unique design, and stylish details and colour, which make this car distinguishing from the standard model. Beside the enhanced visual appeal, this car comes equipped with features like All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC), Gesture Tailgate. The new Discovery Sport Dynamic features a number of exterior enhancements. These features include Narvik Black exterior details, body coloured mouldings and door claddings which makes this car even more muscular. The customers get a choice of an unique new 19 inch wheel design which comes in Satin Dark Grey, or a 20 inch Gloss Black wheel. The interior of the car comes in new impressive colours and detailing, the new Dynamic design option creates a powerful and striking impression.
Apart from luxury Land Rover vehicles are known for their sheer off roading capability. The off roading capability of the Discovery Sport Dynamic is heightened by the introduction of All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) for 2016. ATPC is an advanced system which enables drivers to set and maintain a steady speed during off road driving. Developed by the Land Rover’s all terrain specialists, ATPC functions similarly to a cruise control system, and it is operational between 2 kmph and 30 kmph. The ATPC system adapts the vehicle’s behaviour according to the terrain, allowing even the novice users the control of an expert off road driver. ATPC also sports a dedicated Launch feature, which allows the vehicle to pull away smoothly and easily, even on critically low friction surfaces like ice, snow or wet grass.
When Rolls Royce and Bentley are still working on developing their high end luxury SUV’s another British auto manufacturer Land Rover has already gone the distance and introduced their flagship Range Rover SVAutobiography at the 2015 New York International Auto Show.
So how is it different from the already luxurious standard Range Rover? The Range Rover SVAutobiography definitely brings with it an enhanced design, more sophistication and pure craftsmanship. This also happens to be the most powerful Range Rover too and packs quite a lot of punch from the Supercharged V8 unit while this is also the first time that Land Rover is using duo-tone paint on its exterior.
The SVAutobiography has been built exclusively at the Special Vehicle Operations’ (SVO) Technical Centre in the UK. Beside just the exterior the interior too gets high quality leather, wood and aluminum accents. The Range Rover SVAutobiography definitely will top the charts now when it comes to luxurious SUV’s and why not because it has got everything one needs inside a SUV of this class and caliber.

Land Rover unveiled their latest product the Discovery Sport at the 2014 Paris Motor show but the most interesting thing was that this SUV made its appearance in style.
A pair of Discovery Sport aboard an 80 meter barge on the river Seine marked the arrival of the iconic brand’s newest premium compact SUV. The Barge was decorated with seven pairs of brightly colored, giant-sized Wellington boots which has been present there to represent the SUV’s new 5+2 seating layout alongside Land Rovers capability to take on any extreme outdoor situations. Supermodel and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley too made a surprise appearance at this event. After the barge with the two SUV’s onboard made its appearance infront of the public it continued its journey down the River Seine and cruised past the Parisian landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame Cathedral.
The Discover Sport was first revealed at the Virgin Galactic’s Spaceport America facility in New Mexico, USA, on 3rd September, the vehicle automatically attracted attention of millions of people soon after it was revealed. The compact Discover Sport SUV is targeted mainly towards those customers who may never have considered owning a Land Rover before. Mr. Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer said that "It is quite simply the most accomplished vehicle in its segment.
This SUV made its first appearance at the Pebbles Beach this year and now it has made its big debut at the prestigious Moscow International Auto Show (MIAS) today along with few other cars from the Jaguar and Land Rover lineup.
This SUV is really special for Land Rover because this is the first vehicle to wear the SVR badge. The Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by a V8 supercharged engine, which delivers a mind blowing 550 PS of peak power 680 Nm of torque and mated to a ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic transmission. This SUV is really fast and can reach the 100 km/h mark from standstill in just 4.7 seconds and also handles brilliantly all the credit goes to an all-aluminium monocoque chassis.
The Range Rover Sport SVR surely will attract lots of attention at the Expo considering the fact that this is the most powerful and fastest SUV that came out of the Land Rover stable and managed to lap the entire Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack in just 8 minutes 14 seconds. Which is one of the fastest recorded time ever by a standard production SUV.
Beside the Range Rover SVR Jaguar Land Rover also displayed the Discovery Vision concept which comes with many advanced features like the next generation HMI which do not distract the driver from the road, it also comes with ’Transparent Bonnet’ technology.
Jaguar showcased their CX-17 concept which is their first sports crossover which first debuted at Frankfurt in 2013. Jaguar claims that the XC-17 concept will combine the driving experience of a sports car, this crossover also uses Jaguar’s all-new advanced aluminum monocoque chassis.

I am sure all of you have heard about the M division by BMW, AMG division of Mercedes-Benz these in-house special operation teams with some of the most able engineers makes sure that they transform the popular standard products of these brands into a more buffed up and more powerful road legal cars to satisfy those customers who have really deep pockets and an urge to drive something different and more powerful than what we see on normal roads. Jaguar Land Rover too recently opened their own special operation division which is called the SVR division and just like the popular M division and the AMG divisions the Jaguar Land Rover engineers too dedicated lot of their time and effort to create few such products which are more powerful versions than their standard products.
This SVR division recently unveiled their first product which carries the SVR badge with it the product is none other than the Range Rover Sport. The Range Rover Sport SVR as you all know is a mid size luxury SUV which was first launched by Land Rover in the year 2005 while the second generation Range Rover Sport was launched previous year and is available in both International and Indian markets as well. Land Rover already calls the Range Rover Sport the sportiest Land Rover of all time and the recently unveiled Range Rover Sport SVR is the fastest Land Rover ever produced and is powered by a V8 Supercharged engine which produces mind blowing amount of power and torque outputs but we will talk about those in just a bit but to you give you an exact idea of how fast the new Range Rover Sport SVR is on road is let’s just say that this SUV reaches the 100km mark from standstill in just 4.5 seconds while its top speed is limited to 259.2km/h.

Land Rover has revealed the 2014 New York Auto Show bound Discovery Vision Concept. It is the first step towards a revolutionary change in design language for the rugged off-roader. If the Range Rover is for ferrying the high-class elite, then the Discovery has been the workhorse of the Land Rover family.
The new Discovery Concept has been designed around modern technology with innovative systems like Transparent Bonnet head-up display, Laser headlamps and gesture control, Terrain Response system with Remote Control Drive and Laser Terrain Scanning. The high versatile SUV features an infinitely adjustable seating configuration with space for seven and incorporating an even platform and social bench.
The 2014 Land Rover Discover Vision Concept would be one of the stars of this year’s New York Auto Show. The car made its debut alongside a scale model of the Virgin Galactic spacecraft on board the USS Interpid in Manhattan. The spacecraft is the brain child of Sir Richard Branson of Virgin and is amongst the pioneers of commercial space flight.
The Discover Vision Concept borrows cues from the current Land Rover line up. The slender grille and wrap around head lamps with a bold, upright stance is characteristic of modern Land Rovers. Unique design elements like the stepped roof and alpine lights make it on to the concept.

Jaguar and Land Rover showcased some of their exclusive and interesting products at the Auto Expo today.
Jaguar launched and showcased three of their new products which included the F-type Coupe which was already showcased last year at the Los Angeles Auto Show; the manufacturer displayed the Project 7 F-Type concept which has been inspired from the D-Type at the Auto expo developed by Jaguar design Chief Ian Callum and Chief Vehicle Engineer, Mike Cross.
Beside these Jaguar also showcased the C-X17 crossover concept, which is Jaguar’s first ever attempt at a five-door crossover. This concept vehicle also has a very highly advanced modular aluminum architecture which will be used by the company’s sedan which will be rolled out in the year 2015. Although nothing has been declared officially about which engine will power these new SUV but it can be expected that might have the newly developed four-cylinder diesel and petrol engines under its hood which will also power their upcoming sedan.
On the other hand Land Rover unveiled their long wheelbase version of the Range Rover which is their most expensive product. The LWB version of this Range Rover has an extended wheelbase of 186 mm and as a result of that the occupants get to enjoy more interior legroom (140 mm to be exact) and a boosted recline of almost 17 degrees which is 8 degress more than the standard reclined position. Beside all these the interior has been built and tailored with some of the finest quality leather and materials.
Land Rover also displayed some of their other India product lineups which included the latest Land Rover Discovery and the Range Rover Evoque with 9-speed transmission.
The long wheelbase Range Rover was unveiled by none other than leading Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra while the Jaguar F-Type Coupe was launched by India’s first racing driver Narain Karthikeyan.
