Maryland's Batman Killed After His Car Breaks Down

Maryland’s Batman Killed After His Car Breaks Down

This is very sad news. 51 year old American Lenny. B. Robinson who is also known as the Route 29 Batman has died after he was involved in a car collision late on Sunday night near Hagerstown, Maryland.

Robinson used to drive around in his black custom Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder with a Batman costume always in the trunk. It took him 45 minutes to wear the costume and make up. He used to visit sick children in hospitals wearing that Batman costume. All he wanted to do was to bring a smile on their faces. He even used to give the children gifts.

On Sunday night, as usual, he pulled up at a local gas station and treated kids present there at that time. He then drove off. Soon, his supercar faced engine problems and he was forced to pull over on an unlit stretch of Interstate 70 and he got out of the car. He parked on the median and people behind him stopped and switched on their emergency lights.

Even though he had parked on the median, a small part of the car still protruded into the fast lane. The car was then struck by a Toyota Camry. The Camry pushed the Gallardo into Robinson, who died on the scene. The Toyota Camry driver was unhurt in the incident. Police are still investigating the accident and as of now, no charges have been filed yet.

Lamborghini: Where History and Heritage meets Style

Lamborghini: Where History and Heritage meets Style

I still remember those days, when after the schools I used to go to the toy shop in the mall beside the school and used to buy die cast Hot wheels cars. There were a few particular brands I used to like most, and the first one of them was Lamborghini. Those unbelievable stylish designs, sleek look was something I couldn’t take my eyes off. After so many years, I still look at those Lamborghini models, and get astonished, equally, just like school days.

Well, I not the only one, as all around the world kids, even big boys also gets attracted to the superb sports cars made by the company with the raging bull logo. More than half a century Lamborghini has been one of the most favourite brands for sports car lovers. The cars come with distinctively elegant style and an aura of sheer speed and sleek mechanism under the hood.

In the world of sports car lovers, every man and woman wants to drive a Lamborghini at least once in their lifetime, just like the Porsche and Ferrari. In fact, if we take a thorough look at the roots of the Lamborghini, we will find an interesting fact, that from the very beginning of the Lamborghini’s history, it was established to compete with another Italian automobile giant Ferrari. So the fight was always between two great animals, raging bull and wild horse.

Interestingly, if we take a clear look at the designs based on the evolution of the cars from these two automobile giants, we may find a subtle similarity between them. Here we will take you through the evolution of Lamborghini, a name where history and rich heritage meets elegance and style.

A Lamborghini That Changes Colour: Video

A Lamborghini That Changes Colour: Video

The Lamborghini Gallardo is one of the famous supercars of all time. With over 14 thousand Gallardos sold, it is the best selling car in Lamborghini’s history. With so many of those cars on the road, to stand out, you have to make your car unique.

That is what German graffiti artist Rene Turrek has done. He has painted a Gallardo with an Avengers paint scheme with Captain America on the hood. But there is a catch. The paint used is a temperature sensitive paint so you can only view the graffiti when water is poured on it. Rest of the time, the car features a normal paint job.

Previously, Rene Turrek even created a Hulk graffiti on a BMW X6. Even that was done with temperature sensitive paint. Expect more crazy paint jobs using this paint on more cars, from the artist.

In this video you can watch Car and Driver magazine guys driving a Lamborghini Gallardo which comes with a manual gearbox in one of the World’s most beautiful roads called Futa Pass located in Italy which by the way also happens to the breeding ground of this powerful Bulls created by Lamborghini.

The car that this person is driving here is one of their most successful models ever made and is called the Gallardo LP550-2 which by the way also happens to be their entry level car. It is powered by the 5.2 Litre V10 Unit which produces about 542 Hp of peak power at around 8000 rpm and 398 Lb ft of torque at 6500 rpm. This car is fast and it can sprint from 0-100 km/h mark in about 3.8 seconds while the top speed is limited to about 320 km/h mark. This car is special for many because perhaps this happens to be the last supercar available with a 6 speed manual gearbox which was the reason of glory back in the days.

The gear shifts although manual are fast and it gives a satisfying feeling when one really hits the right notes however the LP550-2 is really an old school supercar not just because of the gearbox it also underpins an old platform while the interiors too may not sooth your eyes either compared to some modern supercars. But this old school Lamborghini definitely can win hearts if you love Lamborghini and old school cars particularly.

2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2

When you’re buying a Lamborghini you expect your car to have more visual attitude than a Ferrari but the challenge with a Lamborghini is whether you can tame it. The Lamborghini Gallardo was the first Lamborghini to be made by Sant’Agata under the Audi ownership and with it the manufacturer wanted to make a return into making more affordable and usable super sports car – something that that had not happened since 1988. The Gallardo sits at the so called ‘bottom end’ of the supercar market and was conceived as a competitor to the 360 Modena and Porsche 911 Turbo and went on sale in 2003. The Gallardo ushered in a new era for Lamborghini when the Italian manufacturer was able to merge the German engineering excellence with their traditional skills. Prices for this supercar start from Rs 1,55,00,000 ex-showroom New Delhi.
