2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster
Hearing the word Lamborghini brings a feeling of sheer speed and masculinity in our minds. Since 1960 starting with Lamborghini Miura, the famous Italian company has gifted the world so many models which comes in the segment Superveloce which means super fast in Italian. They call it SV, off for nearly 30 years the new generation SVs came out in broad daylight in 1995 with Lamborghini Diablo. That was truly a revolutionary leap for Lamborghini as well as for the international super car segment.
Only recently Lamborghini presented the SV versions for four vehicles, but none of them were roadsters. And their latest innovation has just filled up the vacuum with a brand new roadster which was showcased at the famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance last weekend (Read it here).
Earlier in 2015 Geneva Motor Show Lamborghini showcased a Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce coupe, and they confirmed there will be a roadster version of the car too, which came under the limelight when they showcased it in at Pebble Beach. While among so many gorgeous state of art automobiles were there at Pebble Beach, this blue Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce roadster grabbed everyone’s attention. As this is a limited edition car, Lamborghini will sell only 500 units of this car alongside the coupe.
Such a beautiful car comes in such a short number, which is somehow tough to digest for us, but as it is said, every good thing comes to an end. Before we go in detail of this car, we can only say, this new beauty is so Lamborghini!
It comes with a carbon fibre monocoque with aluminium front and rear frame
The basic design of this car except the removable hardtop is same like the Lamborghini Aventador SV, which was unveiled earlier this year. It comes with a carbon fibre monocoque with aluminium front and rear frame. The engine bonnet, side air inlet and rear spoiler is made of carbon fibre while front bonnet, front fenders and doors are made of aluminum.
At the front, we can see Lamborghini has given this car a gorgeous design. From the swooping nose to the hexagonal grilles sitting below the carbon fibre bonnet, as well as the sharp angular headlamps, everything brings a sense of sheer passion, which comes with every Lamborghini.
The side profile is also very stylish with all the thick creases running alongside the body, the blackened wheels Pirelli PZERO Corsa tyres deliver a sense of masculinity. The ORVMs are heated and electrically operational. There is a SV badge at the side air inlets, while at the rear the sharp two diamond and two hexagonal shapes gives it a stylish edge, with a rear spoiler adds on the style quotient. It can be manually adjustable to deliver three kind of down force, which are high, mid and low. The four golden tip exhausts come sitting perfectly at the black and heavily aggressive diffuser.
The roadster comes with a 6 kg hardtop removable hood is made of carbon fibre, and Lamborghini claims it is quick removable, and can be used as a air deflector too as it can be raised and lowered from inside the cabin. This was tested and optimized in a wind tunnel to reduce the drag. The cabin also comes specially aerodynamic.

|Rear wheels||13”JX21” H2 ET 66.7|
|Curb-to-curb turning circle||12.5 m|
The cabin of Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce roadster is equally stylish, just like the Aventador coupe. There is plenty amount of carbon fibre, alcantara and refined leather. The sporty interior comes all black with thick red linings, which is visible in the sporty bucket seats. The Lamborghini dynamic steering comes with paddle shifter integrated to it which comes matched with a drive mode technology which is operational from the drive mode buttons at the centre console, while the custom built SV instrument panel comes with sporty yellow background. The centre console comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system and various buttons and knobs.
It comes with a standard Lamborghini Aventador like engine Start/Stop button too. While the hardtop is on, still there is plenty of headroom available, which is really good for this car.
|Steering||Steering Gear with 3 different servotronic characteristics coupled with Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS), managed by drive select mode|
|Other features||Engine start/stop button, drive mode buttons, sporty bucket seats|
When we talk Lamborghini, we don’t talk about design only, but extreme speed and massive power that lies beneath the hood, which is probably the most distinctive feature that comes with any Lamborghini. Being a supercar it sports a huge 6.5 liter V12 engine, matched with 7 speed ISR automatic gear box, which works depending on the drive mode selected by the driver, which are Strada, Sport, Corsa etc.
The Strada mode is for comfortable drive while the Sport mode is for more dynamic setting offering higher shifting points and much shorter shifting times. On the other hand the Corsa mode is meant for track use only.
The massive V12 engine mounted at the rear of the car produces enormous 740 bhp maximum power at 8400 rpm, and a torque amount of 690 Nm at 5500 rpm. The drivetrain sends power to all the 4 wheels through the Haldex generation IV system and fuel consumption is 4.5 kmpl. Incidentally the coupe version comes with the same engine but it produces 49 bhp less power which is 641 bhp. This 1575 kg roadster comes 50 kg heavier than the coupe version which weighs 1525 kg; still it can reach 100 kmph speed mark in mere 2.9 seconds compare to the coupe version, which reaches the same mark in 2.8 seconds. This roadster is tuned to deliver a top speed of 350 kmph.

RIDE AND HANDLING
This Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster is quite similar to the standard Aventador roadster, when it comes to the make and build. This model is based on full monocoque. The entire chassis and frame is stiff, which gives it very good handling. The four wheel drive system and Front and rear horizontal magneto-rheological damper with push-rod system makes the cars ride quality excellent. The braking system for this car is dual hydraulic circuit brake system with vacuum brake booster, which can make the car dead stop from 100 kmph in 30 metre after hitting the brake pedal, while the electronic stability program keeps the cars steady on course.

|Suspension||Front and rear horizontal magneto-rheological damper with push-rod system|
|Airbags||Front dual stage driver airbag and front adaptive passenger airbag; seats with side “head-thorax” airbags|
|ESP||ESP/ ABS with different ESP characteristics managed by drive select mode|
Sadly, Indian market won’t see this model here; as Lamborghini doesn’t think see India as a viable market for this stunningly gorgeous model. They are yet to reveal the pricing detail, but as it is a special edition car, and will manufactured only 500 units, we can easily expect this one will be priced way above the standard Lamborghini Aventador.
Talking about Lamborghini it is often said, that raging bulls are not for making sense or being practical or even thinking about price, but it is all about passion, love for sheer speed, gorgeous style, breath choking mechanism. The latest innovation from the famous raging bull house of Sant’Agata Bolognese is truly upto that statement.
If this car has to be described in a single word, that would be ‘magnifico’!
- * Gorgeous style
- * Breath choking performance
- * Perfect super car
- * Basic style remains same
- * Too expensive
- * Very limited availability
Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster makes global debut in California, USA
August 2015 — Automobili Lamborghini unveils the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster in occasion of the Monterey Car week in California. The Roadster, presented at the famous event ‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering’, is available in a limited series of 500 units worldwide and is the first series- produced, open-top Lamborghini to bear the name Superveloce.
‘‘The Superveloce is the purest, most sports-oriented and fastest series production Lamborghini ever. The Roadster version represents our commitment to satisfying our passionate clients with immensely emotional driving dynamics combined with an extraordinary open air experience,’’ Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini said during the press conference at The Quail.
As a member of Lamborghini’s storied Superveloce family, the car offers greater performance with a power increase of 50 hp to 750 hp and a dry weight of 1,575 kg (3,472 lb), that is 50 kg (110 lbs) lighter compared to the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster. This leads to an exceptional power-to-weight ratio of just 2,1 kg/hp (4,6 lb/hp).
The Roadster maintains the coupe’s breathtaking acceleration, sheer power and handling prowess. In an enhancement to the Superveloce coupé experience, the Superveloce Roadster’s features a power rear window that allows the free-flowing engine sound to fill the cabin with invigorating tones and harmonics during spirited driving.
The naturally aspirated, 6.5-liter V12 produces 552 kW (750 hp) at 8,400 rpm and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) happens in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of more than 350 km/h (> 217 mph).
Lamborghini’s highly innovative 7-speed ISR transmission delivers an incomparably emotional gear shift and transfers the engine’s power to all four wheels through a Haldex Generation IV 4WD system. Of course, as in the SV coupé the car takes advantage of adaptive Magneto Rheological Suspension, a pushrod damping system and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) for improved driving dynamics and as with the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster, the SV Rodster comes with a two-piece hardtop made from carbon fiber featuring technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite®, which deliver a perfect surface finish, allow complex design shapes and the highest possible component stiffness combined with extremely low weight. Thus, the two roof parts each weigh less than six kilograms (13.2 lb) and can be stowed easily in the luggage compartment. They provide the perfect complement to the monocoque, which is entirely made from carbon fiber.
Deliveries of the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Rodster begin in early 2016 with base pricing of 357,000.00 Euros (excl. VAT) or USD 530,075.00 MSRP.
