Koenigsegg One:1 Crashes In Worst Possible Way At The Nurburgring: Video
According to the reports on the internet the car which now actually looks like a pile of metal was once a One: 1, the most talked about Hypercar from Koenigsegg. The car was spotted doing rounds on the Nurburgring earlier this year too. The car was actually trying to set a new record for Nordschleife lap record for street legal cars. But from what it looks like Koenigsegg will have to wait even longer to actually complete the record.
Although the crash looks severe but according to the statement released by Koenigsegg the driver is safe and also not seriously hurt. The driver was taken to the hospital after the crash and was released the very same afternoon. Surely the Koenigsegg’s safety system which was there to protect the occupants worked and saved the life of the driver here. The reports also suggested that the ABS system failure was most probably the cause of the real accident.
The car will definitely be rebuilt and once again will again try to perform the record at the same track. The One:1 produces about 1MW of power at 7500 rpm and an equally impressive 1000 NM of torque in between 3000 to 8000 rpm. The car is able to sprint from 0-400 km/h mark in just 20 seconds.

In this video you can watch Koenigsegg sprinting their Hypercar One:1 on a private runway test track in Ängelholm but the best part is that not only does its reach 0-300 km/h and back to 0 all in just 17.95 seconds. You can watch the car sprinting from 0-300 km/h mark in just 11.92 seconds while the person driving the car Robert Serwanaski pushed the brake immediately after it reached 300+ km/h mark and the car just took 6.03 seconds to come to a halt from 300 km/h mark.
The Koenigsegg One:1 is powered by 5.0-liter all aluminium V8 engine which is capable of producing about 1,341 hp and a peak torque output of 1,371 Nm at 6,000 rpm. This particular engine has been paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. This car weighs a mere 1, 341 kilograms which actually translates to a dream equation of 1:1. For barking the Hypercar uses ventilated Ceramic disc brakes which have 6 ceramic piston calipers at its front and 4 piston calipers at its rear which can bring the car back to a stop from 400 km/h mark in just 10 seconds.

2016 Geneva Motor Show: Spectacular supercars To Be Showcased
If February was the month for Asia’s largest Auto Expo at New Delhi, then March is all about most prestigious auto show of Europe; Geneva Motor Show. In the capital city of Switzerland the ongoing automotive event is full of exotic cars. A total of 61 cars are debuting at the event, and among them luxury cars, super cars and hyper cars are the most talked about segment. Supercars are undeniably something always grab our attention everywhere, every time.
At the Geneva Motor Show the supercar segment is full of exotic beauties. Some names worthy of mention are Aston Martin DB11, Bugatti Chiron, McLaren 570GT, Koenigsegg Regera, Lamborghini Centenario, Pagani Huayra BC and many more.

The Regera took Koenigsegg one step closer to their dream of creating World’s fastest accelerating production car. This car is really special for Koenigsegg and just to actually make the point for clearer they will only be producing about 80 examples of this car. Powered by a 5.0 Liter V8 unit and combined with 3 separate electric motor altogether this Supercar is capable of producing about 1500 Bhp of peak power and an equally impressive 2000 NM of torque.
In this video you can actually watch the Koenigsegg Regera on the streets while it is actually being driven. As it is quite clear that the car is driven during night time and although in most of the video you can actually see this car is actually driven at normal speeds but a burst of acceleration was felt in between the 1:02 and 2:30 mark. The car actually gets va complex drivetrain and especially a gearbox which needs some time to understand and master. The Koenigsegg One:1 is one of the fastest cars in the world. And by saying that, I am not talking about the top speed. It is the fastest even on a race track. The car currently holds the record fastest lap at the famous Suzuka Circuit in Japan and at the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. The One:1 is also expected to soon set a record on the legendary race track called the green hell, the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
Introduced at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the One:1 is dubbed as the world’s first mega car. The name comes from the power to weight ratio, which is 1, that is, it has a 1 hp to 1 kg ratio. The hypercar is powered by a twin turbochraged V8 producing 1341 hp and 1371 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The car accelerates from a stand still to a 100 kmph in just 2.8 seconds. It accelerates from a stand still to 400 kmph in around 20 seconds and goes from 400 kmph to a dead stop in just 10 seconds. Top speed has been rated at 440 kmph. Those figures are just mind blowing!.
But this does not seem to be enough for the Swedish company. They are now planning to build a track only hypercar that will be way faster than the One:1. The company’s boss, Christian von Koenigsegg, said that he was interested in creating such a model. It would not be based on any of their existing cars. It would be a bespoke model and will be built from the ground up. It would compete against the Aston Martin Vulcan, McLaren P1 GTR and the Ferrari FXX K.

Mr. Christian Von Koenigsegg explains that it took a total of 8 months to manufacture the car and they removed the convention gearbox and installed the new KDD system and decided to install batteries and noble electric motor technology which is extremely compact and light and combined along with their powerful combustion engine resulting in the tremendous amount of power and torque availability anytime one needs. The Regera is not like a typical Hybrid car it does not convert the combustion engine motion into electricity and then to propulsion but this cars power actually goes straight to the wheels and the final drive uses the support of the electrical motors placed towards both the rear wheel while the other electric motor sits on the crankshaft.
Combine all that mathematics and technology and you get a car which can accelerate from 0-100 km/h mark in 2.8 seconds, 150-250 km/h mark can be reached in 3.28 seconds while 0-300 km/h mark can be achieved in 12 seconds and lastly 0-400 km/h in 19 seconds and its top speed is about 410 km/h mark. This also happens to be the World’s first car whose combustion engine is connected directly with the rear axle without any transmission and support.

If any Auto manufacturer deserves the title ‘Extreme’ then it got to be the Swedish Supercar/Hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg. If you go through its history the cars built by Koenigsegg balances itself neatly on the thin line between track cars and road legal cars and there is no doubt in the fact that these cars surely ‘floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee’ and all the credit goes to Koenigsegg’s tradition of building lightweight and powerful road legal cars. This Swedish auto manufacturer introduced a new car to their lineup recently and christened it as the Regera which means ‘Reign’ in Swedish and its unveiling took place at the 2015, Geneva Auto show.
The Regera surely helped Koenigsegg to climb one more step towards their ultimate goal of creating the fastest car of this planet-around a racetrack or anywhere else. Their other two cars the One: 1 which is a hypercar and the Agera RS showed immense level of practicality, comfort and exclusive features while their newest addition promises to bring with it power, responsiveness and luxury. We all know that these three are surely tough things to combine under a single package but that is what Koenigsegg is all about right?
The Regera promises to capture the title of being the most powerful and fastest accelerating production car ever built and just to make things more special Koenigsegg will be building only 80 examples of this car. The Regera will use Hybrid powertrain which means that in its heart lies a powerful 5.0 Litre V8 engine which is further combined with a total of 3 electric motors which in total is capable of producing (now hold on to your seats tightly!!) 1500 Bhp of peak power and 2000 Nm of torque, while having a curb weight of just 1628 Kilograms (yes! I know that is insane).

Only yesterday we informed you about Koenigsegg planning to unveil not one but two new cars at the next months Geneva Auto show. The Swedish car manufacturer did not give any details of the car except some posters which too does not reveal anything about any of the car.
However Teknikensvarld.se was able to click some images of a prototype car being tested on road, now according to the images the car looks similar to Koenigsegg’s very own Megacar One:1, however some of the details still looks unfinished and we expect Koenigsegg to complete the car before the auto show. Koenigsegg also gave a hint that the upcoming car will be a Megacar which gave us an idea that perhaps the new car will be a sportier variant of the One:1, but what we do know the car soon to be unveiled Megacar will be called Regera.
Now because we don’t have any details yet of the car we can assume that this car will get a retuned version of the powerful 5.0 Litre V8 unit, which churns out a peak power of 1.341 Bhp and 1,371 Nm of torque. This unit is really powerful in every sense and helps the One:1 to accelerate from 0-400 km/h mark in just 20 seconds. While the top speed of the car is about 443 km/h mark.
Beside the Regera Koenigsegg also has plans to launch a sportier variant of the Agera R and will be christened as Agera RS but we still don’t have any details of the car yet.
There are only few handful people who don’t really know about the Swedish performance car manufacturer Koenigsegg, now Koenigsegg is set to unveil not one but two of their newest products at the upcoming 2015, Geneva Motor show in March. We expect that the soon to be unveiled Agera RS is expected to be a sportier variant of the already existing popular Agera R and will hopefully sport the same 5.0 Litre Twin Turbo V8 unit which powers the current Agera R but this unit will upgraded to deliver more power and torque. Now this is already a powerful car and that 5.0 Litre V8 unit produces an insanely 1217 Ps of peak power and 1200 Nm of torque while expect the soon to be unveiled Agera RS to deliver more punch. Now just to give you an idea of what the Agera R is actually capable of let’s just say that the Agera R is capable of hitting the 0-100 km/h mark in just 2.8 seconds while it has a top speed of 443 km/h mark. Now just imagine if the Agera RS will be more enthusiastic variant of the Agera R then how much punch will it actually provide in real.

Now we all know that the truck weighs a lot more than a Supercar and not just the any supercar it’s the Koenigsegg One:1 which has a power to weight ratio of 1:1. When it really comes to numbers the lightweight One:1 weighs just about 1360 Kilograms and also produces about 1360 Hp of peak power whereas the truck produces only about 540 hp but the Volvo FH truck definitely excels the Megacar when it comes to the amount of torque it produces because believe it or not the Volvo Truck produces about 2600 Nm of torque while the Koenigsegg produces about 1371 Nm of torque.
But what really sets this truck part from the other trucks is the fact that it comes equipped with an I-Shift Dual Clutch gearbox which claims to provide a racing car like gear changes. The renowned TV presenter Tiff Needdell gets behind the wheels of the Volvo truck while the Koenigsegg One:1 is driven by Koenigsegg official test driver himself. The challenge really was that Koenigsegg One:1 will have to complete two laps of the racing circuit of Sweden whereas the Volvo FH truck will complete one full lap of the circuit at the same time.

In a recent interview, Christian von Koenigsegg, Owner of Koenigsegg, said that the Koenigsegg One: 1, which is the latest upcoming hypercar based on the Agera will also be the fastest Koenigsegg ever built. When they say the "fastest" Koenigsegg, it’s the sort-of fast that breaks records. The company christened this new car as the One:1 since it will have a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1, which is a standard F1 grade figure. To achieve this, the car will stand at 1,400 kg (inclusive of all loads like passenger, etc) and produce 1,400-horsepower from a retuned V-8 engine.
The company is expecting to build six cars by the year end which, surprisingly, have already been pre-sold before Koenigsegg even announced it officially. What sort of clientele do they have? It can be expected that the new hypercar will definitely cost more than the existing Agera which is sold worldwide at Rs.16 Crore in India.
The One: 1 will have an estimated topspeed of 450 km/h (279.6 mph). The current top speed record is 268 mph achieved by a street legal car is the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport. If everything goes in favor of the Swedes, it will break all the set records with ease. Koenigsegg claims that the One:1 will hit the 400 km/ mark in just 20 seconds, which is almost 25 second lower than that of the Buggati Veyron Super sport.
The Swedish hyper car manufacturer also claims that handling and dynamics of the car are so perfect that anyone with a little supercar-handling experience will be able to drive the Koenigsegg One: 1. That should sound reassuring, right?
