Jaguars are not that popular in India. But no can deny the beauty and elegance that reflects from those machines designed at Whitley. BMW has introduced their latest 3 series recently and it has been crowds hot favorite for a long time now but keeping up with the competition has become tough even for this new 3 series because it has to face some really tough competition from some renowned players of the game like Mercedes C-Class and the new generation Jaguar XE.
In this video you can watch Auto Trader reviews all the three cars at once and gives us an idea of whichg car still dominates the segment.
All these cars used for this review are the diesel variants. When it comes to performance surely none of the sedans here disappoints. Considering their size and drivetrain the BMW 3 Series can sprint from 0-100 km/h mark in 7.8 seconds while the Jaguar XE does the same in 8.2 seconds while the Mercedes Benz C Class sedan is the slowest of the trio and achieves the same in 9.7 seconds.
Talk about dimension and the shortest car of the trio is the 3 series while the second position is occupied by the Jaguar XE but the longest sedan in its segment is the C-Class. Now all of them are practical cars here and thus boot space is also very much important for the buyers and the sedan which provides the biggest boot space is definitely the new C Class which also happens to be the longest sedan here.
The 3 series was already one perfect car so what BMW focused on was more interior room and comfort of the passengers. The 3 Series which was tested here only has a 2.0 Liter diesel unit under its hood which pumps a healthy horsepower.
The Jaguar XE might be the entry level sedan that Jaguar offers from their stable but this baby Jag surely can blow your mind away if you decided to take it on a race track and try to shred its tyres off from its wheels.
In this video you can watch the new Jaguar XE being driven on track, the first thing that will catch everyone’s attention is the exhaust note of this baby jag, yes! This sedan can really roar and you can hear it during the first phase of the video. For its better handling Jaguar has used electric power steering which with its lightweight aluminium-intensive monocoque chassis makes it really stable even on the corners and gives the driver confidence to push it hard. This rear wheel drive is definitely fun to throw in the corners because it really can spin its wheels.
The XE driven on the track in this video is a 3.0 Litre V6 variant which produces an impressive 336 BHp of peak power and which tells us that this is really one powerful sedan to drive and like I said you can really shred its rubbers by drifting it like a hooligan. Lastly when it comes to looks the XE surely will steal everyone’s attention for sure with its sharp headlamps, sleek side profile and aggressive looking grille and vents towards the front and those lovely 20 inch rims available with the V6 model surely this car don’t disappoint in terms of looks.
The XE is the competitor of the BMW 3 Series which is also sold in most of the International market including ours and this car is definitely a tough competition.
Watch and enjoy the video....
We have heard a lot about the XE sedan which also happens to be the newest offering from Jaguar. We have already seen some official videos of this sedan in action but in this video we will be able to see the XE sedan being driven around on real roads and also the feedback it receives from the auto journalists.
Now as we are all aware of the fact that the XE uses extremely lightweight aluminium structure in its construction which has helped it in losing some fair bit of weight which in turn not only has helped it in its performance but also improving fuel efficiency figures. The XE takes on its competition Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes Benz C Class directly. Its new platform will also underpin the F-Pace which is Jaguar most anticipated Crossover and also the next generation XF sedan. Jaguar has promised that the XE will bring with it class level of refinement, sporting character and offcourse handling.
The XE will also bring with a series of 4 cylinder petrol and diesel engines along with it while the range topping variant will get a 3.0 Litre V6 unit. In this video the person is driving an early prototype variant of the XE but it is using a Supercharged V6 unit which is producing about 250 KW of peak power and 450 NM of torque.
Watch enjoy and experience what the upcoming XE sedan is bringing along with it. This definitely will be one of the finest and affordable luxury sedan offered in our market from the British auto manufacturer Jaguar.
Jaguar is really making some news especially in terms of design after Ian Callum, took the responsibility on his Shoulder. Under his direction we have seen the stylish F-Type come alive and started ruling the streets from the year 2013 and now another car carrying the Jaguar logo has bagged the award of the ‘Most Beautiful Car of 2014’ at the 30th edition of Festival Automobile International in Paris.
The XE which was first showcased at the Paris Motor Show itself last year is already sold in number of markets including Europe and UK. Ian Callum himself was present at the award show and collected the prestigious award infront of the Crowd which consisted of over 600 VIP guests and more than 60 of the media. The award show began from the 28th January onward and concluded on 31st of January, the gala event was held at the Hotel des Invalides, where the XE was showcased along with 18 other concept cars including some of the popular concept cars like the Jaguar Project 7.
The XE faced tough competition this year from the Mazda MX5, the Fiat 500X and the Mercedes C Class Estate but it has won the accolade by public vote and more than 100,000 votes casted across the Country. The XE won the title with 28 percent of votes; previously it also has won the title of ’Best Production Car’ by Auto Plus magazine and the listeners of French radio station, RTL.
We were all eagerly waiting for this compact entry level sedan from Jaguar to enter the Indian market and finally we have got some news. According to the report Jaguar will be launching the XE sedan in India at the 2016, Auto Expo which usually takes place in the month of February.
This XE sedan is built on lightweight chassis and concentrates on both performance and fuel efficiency. The XE will compete directly against the Audi A4, BMW 3 series and the Mercedes Benz C-Class. Some close Jaguar officials informed Autocar India that because the XE is the entry level sedan from the British auto manufacturer that does not mean that it will be cheap infact, Jaguar has planned to launch the fully equipped variant of the XE in the Indian market and although we don’t have much details exactly about the variants and engines at this moment but expect the XE sedan to get the 2.0 Litre diesel engine under the hood which produces about 161 Bhp of peak power and 380 Nm of peak torque, this unit is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels. The XE is also offered with a 6 speed manual gearbox in the International market but unfortunately it won’t make it to the Indian market.
There is no more information available at this moment about the upcoming sedan and not even the fact that whether this will be sold in India via the CBU rote or will it be locally assembled at the JLR facility in Pune. But because we said that the car won’t come cheap doesn’t mean that it will be priced way above its competitors because the XE is the sedan which will bring in some sales for Jaguar.
