2016 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross
A rugged and powerful Adventure Utility vehicle
Isuzu may not be a popular auto manufacturer in India yet but they have a rich history. Isuzu is one of the oldest car manufacturers in the Japanese automotive industry. In 1922 Isuzu assembled their first automobile called Wilseley Model A-9. Their next venture was in the truck segment back in the year, 1934 they have launched a standard model truck which was named ‘ISUZU’, this truck was named after the ISUZU river.
Later in the year 1949 the company name was changed to ISUZU Motors limited. After the World War II there was a huge demand of trucks to carry goods and materials that’s when the ISUZU trucks played an important role. Their first venture in India came in the form of diesel engines which was fitted under the hood of one of the iconic cars of all time the Hindustan Motors Ambassador. That’s right back in 1990 the Ambassador was actually powered by 1817 ISZ and the 2000 DSZ. These engines featured a 75 Bhp engine.
Isuzu later returned to the Indian market in 2012 and chalked out their future plan, they started importing the D-Max pickup and the MU-7 SUV from Thailand. In 2016 they are back with a new Adventure utility vehicle called the D-Max V-Cross. So yes this Adventure Utility vehicle may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it already has some fan following amongst the adventure enthusiast of the country.
