The Italian design house Icona is all ready to release its first supercar at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2015.
The car was originally presented at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show and its design inspiration was taken from the world’s fastest plane, the Blackbird SR-71. The Vulcano is the world’s first titanium car. The full titanium car takes 1000 hours to hand-craft. The car is built by Italian coach builders, Cecomp and is designed by Samuel Chuffart. The powertrain is being built by two motorsport greats: Claudio Lombardi (ex Scuderia Ferrari director) and Mario Cavagnero (the man behind Lancia racing team).
The Icano Vulcano is powered by a supercharged V8 producing 670 hp and 840 Nm of torque. The engine can be tuned up to 1000 hp if required. It is mated to a paddle-shift gearbox from Automac Modena. The car accelerates from a stand still to a 100 kmph in 2.8 seconds and it has a top speed of 350 kmph.
The car will be launched this weekend at Pebble Beach, California. The once an year event is considered to be one of the most prestigious events in the automotive world. Lamborghini is also launching a limited edition hypercar during the event.
