2018 Hyundai Kona
A Fresh new design and lot of Hyundai’s new technology has been added to this Crossover
Hyundai had released a teaser image of their soon to be launched Kona SUV a few weeks ago. Now after almost few weeks Hyundai finally took the covers off the much-awaited sub -compact SUV Kona. This new Sub-compact will join some other SUVs of the Hyundai lineup which includes Grand Santa Fe, Santa Fe and the Tucson. The Kona is expected to adopt Hyundai’s new design language and will also be the auto manufacturers first B-segment SUV to launch in 2017. According to Hyundai, this SUV will create a unique proposition in the sub-compact SUV segment.
The name Kona has derived from the Kona district on the Big Island of Hawaii. The compact SUV will be positioned below the Tucson and Santa Fe in their SUV lineup, and there is a fair possibility of it launching in the Indian market towards the end of this year or early 2018. Some reports state that the upcoming Hyundai Kona compact SUV will share lots of its components with the new Elite i20. The Kona SUV will take on the Ford Ecosport, Mahindra TUV300 and some other small SUV’s when it finally launches here.
The Kona SUV underpins the companies B-Platform and has a new and distinct styling which sets it apart from the rest of the Hyundai SUV’s. Now this particular SUV has been designed for the markets of Europe and US, however, we do feel that Hyundai surely has plans to launch it in the Indian market as well soon.
