Among all the markets for automobiles around the world, the Indian car market is turning out to be the most savage for the auto makers, not because of the economic conditions, but for the fact that it has the most cut-throat competition, which has forced all the auto makers to evolve themselves at a faster than expected rate, and those who don’t evolve with this pace, lag behind in the race in terms of volumes as well as reputation too.
If we talk about the Indian car makers in general, all the manufactures have gradually started keeping the aspect of sales numbers above the aspiration value of offering something unique and distinctive. And they are bound to do so, as the Indian market is yet to become mature to accept something radically different. Because of this ever-increasing hunger of achieving more and more numbers, all the automakers are carrying out various steps. While they offer a number of features and variants in their already existing models, some of them are now offering multiple models in the same range, which they claim are targeted towards Indian audience with different perspectives.
However, there is one more way in which the car makers are trying to multiply their sales numbers – that of selling the pre-facelifted models with the ones which have replaced them globally. Some of the auto makers are carrying this step for the models which have helped them in establishing in the Indian market, with a touch of emotional appeal attached with them. There are some cars, which are now happily co-existing with their respective previous generation models, although, as expected, their pre-facelift models are repositioned as more basic and pared down models, so that their sense of upgrade and premium appeal is not affected.
Following is a list of all those currently available new generation cars and their respective pre-facelift models, which though are available with new names and slightly pared down and dated appeal, but still offer great practical value. Here you go:-
