Previously some reports stated that the new City facelift will take its styling inspiration from the Honda Greiz sedan but this recently leaked spy images tells a different story.
As you all can clearly notice that that the front face of this facelift sedan gets a new styling which looks like it has been inspired from the new Civic or the Accord sedan. The headlamp unit has been restyled and now it gets an all LED unit. The front fog lamp enclosure has also been restyled as well apart from the newly designed front bumpers which look sportier than the ones seen on the current car. Although the side profile of the sedan has not been revealed in the image but expect the sedan to get a newly designed alloy wheels. While the rear profile of the sedan gets a LED wraparound taillamps. Last but not the least it also gets a boot lid mounted rear spoiler as well.
Although the interior are not revealed in the images but expect it to get an all black interior likes the ones already found on the current sedan. While the dashboard will also house a new infotainment system as well which will most probably also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, while you can also expect some new upholstery as well.
Some other updates inside the interior might include LED cabin lights, new multifunctional steering wheel, while it will also get front and rear AC vents as well.
For the Indian market the Honda City will continue with the same 1.5 Liter i-VTEC petrol engine which is capable of producing about 119 ps of peak power and 145 Nm of torque. The diesel variant on the other hand gets the 1.5 Liter i-DTEC diesel engine which is capable of producing about 100 Ps of peak power and 200 Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to a 5 speed manual as well as CVT transmission while the diesel motor will most probably only get the 5 speed manual transmission.
Expect the new sedan to be priced slightly higher than the existing Honda City sedan but it will be priced aggressively keeping in mind its competition.
There is no doubt that the updated City sedan definitely will be a lot more premium than the existing City sedan and also will help Honda to take on its rivals like the Ciaz and the Skoda Rapid and also the Hyundai Verna.
We will definitely update you with more details as soon as they are available.
