2017 Toyota Etios Liva Duel Tone
Toyota Kirloskar Motors introduced the duel tone Etios Liva in India, the hatchback not only gets a duel tone overall design but also class-leading cabin space and safety features.
Toyota made their presence felt in one of the most competitive segments of the Indian market by launching the Etios Liva hatchback back in 2011 just after a year of the launch of the Etios sedan. Toyota extended their Etios family of hatchbacks by introducing the Etios Cross back in the year 2014. Last year Toyota also introduced the Platinum Etios in Indian market which has helped the auto manufacturer to register an overall growth of 7 percent towards the last quarter of 2016.
Compared to some other hatchback of its segment the Etios Liva failed to impress the crowd despite its feature packed interior, abundant safety feature and fuel-efficient drivetrains. Toyota launched the refreshed Etios and Liva hatchback last year and although these are not exactly new generation cars but mid-life refresh they certainly looked sportier and bolder than the older cars.
Coming to the newly introduced Dueltone variant, the hatchback not only gets some cosmetic updates to its exterior but interior as well. With an option of both petrol and diesel drivetrains on offer the Etios Liva Duel tone surely looks like a compact package.

Maruti Discontinues Celerio Diesel In India
It looks like Maruti has taken the decision to discontinue the Celerio Diesel variant from the Indian market. The good news is that petrol variant of the Celerio is still on sale in India, but the diesel variant totally disappeared from their Indian website recently.
Maruti launched the Celerio hatchback back in 2014 and during the time of its launch the hatchback was offered only with a petrol engine under the hood. Later, after almost a year, Maruti added the diesel variant as well to the lineup.
The diesel mill which used to power the celery was a completely new unit which was developed by Maruti engineers. The small 793 cc unit produced about 47 bhp peak power at 3,500 RPM and 125 NM torque at 2,000 RPM. Now compared to some other rivals of this segment the power and torque figures were less, but keeping the size of the 2 cylinder engine in mind the power output were quite impressive. The car definitely returned an impressive fuel efficiency figure of 27.6 kmpl which was definitely the highest fuel efficiency figures of its segment. Besides the impressive fuel efficiency figures the diesel engine was also one of the lightest units weighing only 89 Kilograms courtesy the aluminium engine blocks.
Now when Maruti introduced this new engine the trend of the smaller diesel engine was quite popular because of the increasing petrol prices. But recently the Market situation changed completely and the consumers were inclined towards petrol engines only because of the lesser gap in between both fuel prices.

New Chevrolet Beat Hatchback Spotted Testing Again As Launch Date Nears
Chevrolet is all set to introduce the new generation Beat hatchback soon, the hatchback was spotted couple of times being tested on the Indian road. It was once again caught on video as well strengthening the chances of its launch in the recent months.
Chevrolet showcased the new generation Beat hatchback for the first time at the 2015 Seoul Motor show. While for the International market the Beat (also known as Spark) is based on a new M2 platform. This is an improved platform but unfortunately the Indian spec Beat will be based on the same old platform which underpins the current hatchback. The reason for GM not using the new expensive M2 platform for the Indian market is to keep the prices of the new hatchback down and in the same margin of its predecessor which is on sale currently.
Is Tata Motors Planning To Launch The Tiago Petrol AMT On 2nd February 2017?
Tata Motors has announced on their social media channels that they will be launching something big on 2nd February 2017. Now we are still not sure what this could possibly be. Could this be a completely new product in the form of the Tata Kite5 sedan or is it the AMT variant of their popular Tiago hatchback.
The rumours actually are leaning against the fact that Tata Motors might introduce the AMT variant of the Tiago hatchback on 2nd February 2017.
Tata introduced the Tiago hatchback last year April and since its launch this has actually became one of the best selling products of their portfolio. The hatchback is offered with both diesel as well as petrol drivetrains but the only place where it lacks is the absence of an automatic transmission. Now providing an automatic transmission will increase the overall pricing of this hatchback by quite few margins and thus Tata Motors has decided to provide a cheaper alternative in the form of an AMT transmission.
The AMT equipped car was already spotted being tested couple of times on the Indian roads. The trend of affordable AMT transmissions was started by Maruti with their Celerio hatchback. The biggest advantage of the AMT transmission is that it eliminates the use of clutch and thus helping the driver to drive their cars effortlessly in bumper to bumper city traffic while not hampering the overall fuel efficiency of the vehicle.
