Tesla is quite young compared to some other renowned auto manufacturers present in the World because they started their journey back in the year 2003 and what they are really good at is making some really premium and also fast cars which uses electric energy to power their engines.
Recently the report tells us that Tesla is planning to enter the emerging markets which will also include India on the list too. But we all know what is the present condition of the EV vehicles which are present and their infrastructure in India and also Governments participation in promoting these electric vehicles and while on the other hand we also know that Tesla cars does not come cheap. So in order to deal with all those problems Tesla is actually developing and working on their third generation car which will actually be smaller and more affordable than their existing products. This new third generation model will actually be a smaller 4 door sedan which has been codenamed as Tesla Model 3.
Jay Vijayan, chief information officer at Tesla Motors said that the Tesla Model 3 which is still under the process of development and will be priced around the $30,000 to $40,000 mark which is almost half the price of their existing models. Right now their Tesla S model is priced over $100,000(about INR 61 lakhs). He later also added that India is one of the most potential markets of Asia but the import duties are also too much which actually means that the options of importing car from outside is almost faint and that is the reason why they will actually plan of setting their own plant within the country if they get a definite policy from the Government to support electric vehicles in the near future. Presently Tesla sells their S models in two of the Asian Countries already.
