Power for the Ferrari 458 Italia comes from a 570 PS 4.5 litre V8 engine
Ferrari 458 Italia is an exotic supercar the Italian sportscar maker has produced, and in India not every other day you get to see such a beautiful and powerful car on road. So, when one can spot a Ferrari on Indian road, it becomes an eye candy for everyone around the car. This is what happened in Bangalore, when a Ferrari 458 Italia was spotted on road in the city. Bangalore is known for being the home of several exotic supercars, be it Lamborghinis or Ferraris.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a massive 4.5 litre V8 engine which is capable to churn out 570 PS of peak power at 9000 rpm and 530 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. The transmission duty is done by a dual clutch 7 speed automatic gearbox. The V8 engine powering the 458 Italia shares the same casting which is available in the Ferrari California, but the 458 Italia’s engine comes with low friction coating for the pistons. This car can accelerate to 100 kmph from standstill in just 3.4 seconds and to reach 200 kmph it takes around 10 seconds, while the top speed for this car is 325 kmph. Aerodynamically it is one of the best efficient models Ferrari has ever built.
Have you ever thought of setting your car on fire just because it is getting old? What if the car was a Ferrari?
In some extremely insane state of mind too I will think the answer is a hard ’NO’, because afterall it is a ‘Ferrari right’. Although some incredibly rich people might think otherwise and even act otherwise too. Here is an incredible news which might attract your attention.
A rich young guy from Switzerland, who also happens to be the son of an extremely rich man just torched his Ferrari 458 Italia, and the reason behind this was that he wanted his dad to buy him a new Ferrari 488 GTB, although he owns 20 more luxurious cars in his garage. So instead of just asking his dad for a brand new Ferrari he opted for murdering his 458 Italia, in an attempt to make it look like a real theft and burn case.
To accompany him in this crime he even found three accomplices too, who received $15000 (INR 9.63 lakh) each for stealing the dead Ferrari and drive it near the Swiss-German border and burn it down to the ground.
The entire plan was set to make it look like a real theft and burn case which would serve dual purpose for the victim. He would receive the insurance money as well as a brand new car, possibly his favorite 488 GTB. Although things did not go as per the plan. Security cameras caught the three guys in the business, while the rich son of rich dad was waiting for the good news. When police got the real conspirator behind the crime, he confessed everything, and claimed he was out of money to afford a new Ferrari, despite receiving $10000 (INR 6.42 lakh) each month as his pocket money, and as he was not brave enough about his disliking of the Ferrari 458 Italia, so he simply burnt the car which was actually advised by a garage person.
Initially Ferrari recalled a total of 814 cars in USA only, to fix the airbag issues of those cars, but later Ferrari announced the recall program is scheduled globally. As we came to know, the famous Italian automobile manufacturer is recalling a total of approximately 2600 cars worldwide.
The airbag problem was first discovered during the testing of Ferrari 458 Italia’s steering wheels. Experts detected the leather covering the airbag was not glued to it properly, as well as the airbags itself were set in a wrong position, and thus the company initiated the recall program. Spokeswoman for the company said, “This is possibly a production defect in the components inside the airbag.” She also informed, after the issue came under the light Ferrari immediately issued a recall program to replace the faulty parts. All the Ferrari models produced in between 19th December, 2014 to 29th April, 2015, are supposed to come with this fault, which means cars like 458 Italia, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, FF, F12 Berlinetta, California T and LaFerrari Hybrid Hypercar – built in between the mentioned time period are all defective with the faulty airbags. Ferrari will replace the faulty parts completely free of cost, and the recall program is scheduled to begin from 30th July.

The 458 Speciale A was unveiled at the Paris Motor show by Chairman Luca di Montezemolo and as you all can guess that it instantly attracted the attention of many at the show. Ferrari will build only 499 units of this special edition car as we already reported earlier and because of its powerful V8 engine and advanced aerodynamics this car is able to accelerate from 0-100km/h mark in just 3 seconds. While because it’s a convertible its retractable hard top takes just 14 seconds to deploy and retract. The Ferrari 458 Speciale A will only be available in a triple-layer Modena yellow livery with central Blu NART and Bianco Avus stripe.
Powering the Ferrari Speciale A is the powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine which is mated to a 7-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission producing about 445 kW of peak power at 9000 rpm and 540 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. This car weighs only about 1445 kilograms and it has a top speed of about 320 km/h mark.
Every product that steps out from their factory is special but this time the Italian sportscar manufacturer Ferrari is all set to debut a limited edition special series at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in order to celebrate the success of the various versions of the Ferrari 458 that was launched until now and which also won numerous titles and awards to its name including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
The Limited Edition car will be called the 458 Speciale A (A as in Aperta) Aperta means Open in Italy. There is no doubt in the fact that this new limited edition Ferrari is also another Poster perfect car and here comes the most interesting part this also happens to be the most powerful Spyder that ever came out from the Prancing Horses stable. The 458 Speciale A uses a naturally aspirated V8 engine which produces about 597 Hp of peak power and 540 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. Now there is no doubt that this car is fast and to give you a fair idea of exactly how fast this car actually is let us give you an example, the 458 Speciale A will sprint from standstill to 100km/h mark in just 3.0 seconds while it does 0-200km/h mark in just 9.5 seconds.
Ferrari rolled out the 458 Speciale and now Mclaren wants to take Maranello head on with a sharper and of course, faster version of the MP4-12C. The Ferrari 458 Speciale replaces the F430 Scuderia which was launched last year. It is lighter, more powerful and quicker than the standard 458 Italia.
The standard Ferrari 458 Italia is as sharp as a Swiss knife, however the Speciale is more of a samurai sword. There’s all kinds of aerodynamic trickery going on making it extremely agile. Bettering Ferrari’s 458 Speciale will be a tough ask. But, that does not mean folks at Mclaren are going sit quiet with their hands folded.
Oh no, they wont. Mclaren insiders close to Autocar have revealed that a 458 Speciale rival is in the making. It will based on the current MP4-12C super car. Now, the MP4-12C is as complicated as its name which is why I like to call it a bucket load of science and mathematics where the bucket is made out of carbon fiber.
Mclaren’s 458 Speciale rival has to be better than its rival and for that they would require a team of the most brilliant engineers who will probably spend the months leading up to project deadline inside the Mclaren skunkworks. The new supercar is expected to arrive in 2014, according to Autocar.
The upcoming Mclaren will probably use the same 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 tuned to 650 horsepower. The exterior styling of the new car is expected to be unique too. There is talk about a P1 inspired exterior design to debut on this high performance model.

The Ferrari 458 Italia costs Rs2,50,00,000 but that isn’t a surprise. There is Ferrari book priced at half of that called the Enzo ‘Diamante’ weighing 37kgs containing more than 2000 pictures which shows the journey of Enzo Ferrari in making Ferrari the iconic brand that it is today. The book has a 30 carat diamond entrusted ’prancing horse’ logo which is made up of about 1500 carefully selected stones. The 458 Italia then one would think is a bargain. A replacement to the F430, the 458 Italia is generations ahead of the car that it replaces. It is one of the finest sportscars on the planet and in 2011 won the Performance Car award. Initially the 458 was thought of as a junior Ferrari but this mid-engine, V8 from Maranello is anything but a junior Ferrari.
