As you can clearly see from the image that Renault KWID AMT variant can be differentiated from the manual variant with the help of a small ‘Easy-R’ AMT badge located towards the lower half of the tailgate. As far as the styling is concerned the more powerful 1.0 Liter variant looks identical to the smaller KWID variant. Renault already showcased the KWID equipped AMT variant at the Auto Expo 2016 and instead of a proper gear lever the Easy R AMT gets a rotary knob positioned towards the lower half of the dashboard.
As we already reported earlier the KWID became the Blue eyed boy (Read the news here) for Renault and helped the French manufacturer with sales volumes. The 1.0 Liter variant of the KWID will be powered by a more powerful engine which is expected top produce in between 65-70 PS of peak power.

Datsun took the wraps of the much anticipated production spec redi-go hatchback in Delhi today. This will be their third offering in the Indian market after the Go and the Go+. The Datsun redi-Go is second model which underpins the Renault-Nissan alliance based CMF-A platform after the Renault KWID.
As far as the styling is concerned, Datsun has not made much changes to the redi-Go concept which was showcased at the 2014, Delhi Auto Expo which is definitely a good thing. Take a look at it and you will love everything about this new hatchback, this hatchback blends compact crossover & urban hatchback styling perfectly.
Towards the front the hatchback gets sharp looking pulled back headlamps which come with integrated turn indicators as well, while the DRL’s are positioned towards the lower half of the front bumper. The front profile of the hatchback is also dominated by the huge hexagonal grille with the Datsun logo in the middle.
The side profile unlike the other cars of its segment gets a tall stance last but not the least the new hatchback also gets an impressive 185 mm ground clearance as well. Towards the rear things looks identical to the sketches released by Datsun few days ago. The rear profile of the hatchback gets vertically stacked taillamps and separate reflectors positioned towards the lower half of the contoured rear bumper.
Under the hood like we already informed you before the redi-Go hatchback share the same 800 cc, three cylinder petrol unit with the KWID hatch, this engine is also paired to a 5 speed manual transmission. However there is a fair chance that Datsun will also offer the more powerful 1.0 Unit with the AMT Transmission along with this hatchback at a later stage.
the newest hatchback offering from Datsun underpins CMF-A Platform and also shares drivetrain with Renault KWID
As promised Datsun has unveiled their newest hatchback in India; their newest offering is actually based on the redi-Go concept which they showcased at the 2014, Auto Expo New Delhi. Datsun tried to establish itself as a brand by offering low cost cars in Indian market and although we cannot actually call them successful yet In India but after their resurrection in the year 2013, Datsun really have adopted clever strategies to engineer and sell their cars.
Datsun is currently being owned by Nissan and right now they have a stronghold in the markets of Indonesia, South Africa, Russia and India. Both their products offered in India includes the Go and the Go+ definitely has their own unique appeal and although they are not the best selling vehicles of their segment but actually is able to provide a tough competition to their rivals.
Datsun has shared Nissan’s engine and platform on their products and their upcoming redi-Go hatchback will also not be different either because it will be built on the same CMF-A platform which underpins the Renault KWID (The CMF-A platform has been designed and engineered in India and was developed under Renault and Nissan alliance). We also have to mention the fact that the Datsun’s upcoming hatchback redi-Go will also use the same engine from the KWID but will also rival the car at the same time.
However unlike the Renault KWID the redi-Go will have a completely different character and offcourse a fresh new styling which the Datsun official’s thinks will be appreciated by the Indian buyers.

The battle of the entry level hatchbacks are getting fierce
Datsun is all set to take the covers off their newest hatchback in the Indian market on April 14th 2016. Now almost all of you know by now that Datsun has showcased the redi-Go concept hatchback for the first time at the 2014 Auto expo New Delhi and fortunately they have decided not to make too many changes to the production variant of the hatchback in terms of styling and what was also surprising was the fact that Datsun decided to not change the name as well.
According to the recent reports the redi-Go hatchback will be powered by a sub 1000 cc engine and thus it will compete directly with the likes of the other entry level hatchbacks like the Alto800, Hyundai Eon and the segments current favorite car the Renault KWID.
Datsun has decided to borrow the same CMF-A platform from the Renault KWID and even its petrol engine. We have already provided our first impression of the upcoming hatchback and now we are here to provide you a spec comparison detail between the Datsun redi-Go and the already existing Renault KWID.
Will be positioned below the Renault KWID
Do you remember that compact green concept car which looked like a hatchback from Datsun showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Well! According to the recent sources Datsun will be unveiling their latest hatchback offering which will actually be based on the same ‘Redigo’ concept that we just talked about on April 14th 2016.
Although the car shares the same CMF-A platform with the KWID which will also be its biggest rival but you can expect the upcoming hatchback to be completely different than the Renault’s entry level hatchback offering which by the way also underpins the same platform.
Now when it comes to styling the Datsun ‘Rediigo’ or the ‘i2’ which is also its codename will get a taller stance which will create more room inside the cabin. Do not get too surprised if the production ready variant of the hatchback looks identical to the ‘Redigo’ concept showcased at the Auto Expo. You can also expect an impressive ground clearance of 200 mm which is quite impressive keeping in mind the fact that this is a hatchback offering. The designers also tried to shape the car in such a way that it provides a very good all around visibility, confirmed the source.
Under the hood the Datsun Redigo based hatchback will be powered by the same 800 cc petrol unit which powers the KWID hatchback and the petrol engine will be paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox. Expect the new budget hatchback from Datsun to be positioned below the Renault KWID and thus you can also expect it to be less equipped too than the existing hatchback which will help keep the prices down.
The Datsun newest hatchback is definitely targeted for the mass market and will be official unveiled on 14th April 2016, while expect it to be launched later in the Indian market. What will be most surpassing is also the aggressive pricing of this hatchback.
