List of hatchbacks which are made to look like SUVs/crossovers
Given the fact of immensely rising popularity of compact SUVs and crossovers in the Indian market, it is a no surprise how deeply we Indians have a thing for owning SUVs. It is this serious love for SUVs among Indian customers of today, which is why all the manufactures, especially the global ones, have gone back to their design tables and come up with models which are designed in India for the world. Such is the fascination for SUVs among Indians, that the automakers are not shying off from coming up with hatchback based crossovers.
A category of vehicles rather unheard globally, the hatchback based crossovers come with some added design elements and changes inside and out, which make them look more rugged than their hatchback counterparts. Though, it doesn’t mean that they are off-road ready, for the changes are just aesthetic rather than being functional. The majority of the automakers have taken this rather unique step to raise their sales in the market, which surprisingly is paying them as well.
In this feature story, we are throwing some light on all those hatchback based crossovers, which have turned to be game changers for their respective parent manufacturers. Following is a complete list of all such hatchbacks which look like jacked up SUVs.

But now after the launch of the Maruti Ignis which actually is more features rich and definitely more fuel efficient. Mahindra definitely needed something fancy in their plate to drive the attention from the recently launched rival on to their own product.
Now in order to increase its sales figures Mahindra surely needed something which could bring back the customers interest back to their entry level offering and hence the anniversary edition. Now unfortunately this special edition KUV100 does not get any major updates under the hood but it surely gets few cosmetic updates which has made the car more attractive.
