Tata was the first manufacturer in India to launch a sub-4 meter compact sedan. The first compact sedan to hit the Indian market came in the form of the Indigo ecs. Currently, Tata already has another car in this segment as well in the form of Zest which based on their Bolt hatchback. The Tigor will be their second offering in this segment for the Indian auto manufacturer.
Quite honestly what did you all expect when you came to know that Tata is launching another compact sedan? Honestly we though it will be some boring and annoying styled car. But when Tata actually revealed the Tigor right in front of our eyes recently we all got super excited. No wonder Tata Motors won many hearts when they unveiled the production variant of the Tigor at the 2017 Geneva Motor show and later showcased it at a media event in India.
Now that we all know that the compact sedan will be launching tomorrow in India here are some quick facts about this soon to be launched car which is also expected to be the cheapest offering of its segment.
2017 Nissan Terrano
Nissan has launched the facelift Terrano in India today. The updated SUV gets minimal changes to the exterior while inside is where one will find the maximum number of changes. The Terrano was launched in India back in 2013 and based on the same platform which Renault uses to underpin their Duster SUV as well. The updated Terrano get 22 brand new features which have been provided to strengthen the SUV’s smarter and bolder appeal to customers.
Nissan says that the SUV will compliment the lifestyle of today’s Indian customers. The updated Terrano although does not get any mechanical upgrades to its engine. It still continues with the same 1.6-litre petrol and the 1.5 Litre diesel unit. Transmission option for the facelift car includes a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and a six speed automated manual which is made available only with the more potent diesel variant.

2017 Tata Tigor
Tata Motors have revamped their image for the Indian Automobile market; they already created a lot of hype with their hatchback offering Tiago. If you all remember alongside the Tiago hatchback, Tata had also showcased a Tiago based compact sedan back at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo as well. There was no doubt that both the Tiago hatchback and the compact sedan based on the hatchback grabbed people’s attention at the Auto show. The sub-4 meter car was codenamed Kite5 while later it was officially renamed as ‘Tigor’.
There is no denying the fact that Tata Motors started the trend of compact sedans in the Indian market with their product the Indigo ecs but later the segment was overtaken by its rivals. Tata Motors was determined to get their hold back once again here, and as a result of all that, they have launched some modern generation products with refined styling and improved overall interior and exterior. Their new generation products certainly worked for the Indian market, and after almost a year of launch, the Tiago hatch still sells like hot cakes.
Tata Motors used the same strategy and introduced the Tigor compact sedan as well based on the same hatchback platform. But Tata called it Styleback because it did not have the typical styling of a small car. As a matter of fact, the Tigor is the unique looking car of its segment. Look at this car which falls under budget compact sedans category, but it still has the appeal of a premium offering which will impress many.

Undisguised New-Gen Maruti Swift Dzire Spotted As Production Starts
The new generation Maruti Swift Dzire has been spied once again but this time without camouflage. The new compact sedan will be launching soon in the Indian market and according to the latest reports has already entered production at Maruti’s Manesar plant.
Expect the launch to take place in around the month of May here in India the new generation sub-4Meter sedan will be a lot different than its predecessor. There are also rumours that Maruti will even drop the Swift badge from the sedan and will only call it Dzire.
There is no doubt in the fact that the Swift Dzire is one of the best-selling compact sedans of the Indian market. The new generation sedan is based on an entirely new platform which also supports the Baleno hatchback as well. This lightweight platform will help the Swift Dzire in the fuel efficiency department. Tata Starts Taking Pre-Bookings For Tigor Styleback Launch On 29th March
Tata Motors today commenced the pre-Bookings for their soon to be launched Tigor Styleback from today onward. The Tigor is the production variant of the Kite5 sedan which was showcased at the 2016 Auto expo and will be launching in the Indian market on 29th March 2017. The bookings for the upcoming compact sedan like we said has already commenced across all the dealerships in India with booking amounts of INR, 5000.
There is no doubt in the fact that the Tigor brings a fresh new air of break freestyling to its segment. The the new styling and design approach is meant to the new and fast generations of the Country according to Tata Motors.

India Spec Tata Tigor Styleback Fully Revealed Before Its Launch With Complete Details
Tata Motors today commenced the media drive for their soon to be launched compact sedan Tigor. The Tigor is the sedan variant based on their popular Tiago hatchback, and it will be launched in India officially on 29th March.
The Tigor is production variant of the Kite5 concept car which was showcased at the 2016 Auto expo, New Delhi. Tata Motors is calling it a fastback instead of a regular sedan because they don’t want the car just be called the Tiago hatchback with a new boot. That is also the reason why Tata Motors has given the Tigor a fastback like a roofline which sweeps down beautifully towards the rear profile and blends perfectly with the rear profile, this designing can only be seen in some premium sedans.
The Tata Motors Tigor although is based on the same XO platform which underpins the Tiago hatch but it has an extended wheelbase than the regular hatchback. The extended wheelbase has resulted in slightly more rear legroom. Furthermore, the front seats of the sedan have also has been redesigned to generate more leg room. The Tiago also has a boot space of 419 Litres.
Production Spec Tata Nexon Caught Undisguised Way Ahead Of Its Launch
Only recently we came to know that Tata Motors is all set to introduce the new Nexon compact SUV in India before Diwali 2017. The production spec of the Compact SUV was also showcased recently at 2017, Geneva Motor show. However, Carwale was able to click some undisguised pictures of what looks like the production spec of the Nexon compact SUV recently.
The sub-4 meter SUV will compete directly with the likes of the Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura Cross and the soon to be launched Honda WR-V Crossovers when it finally launches here. According to the reports, Tata Motors will price the new compact SUV aggressively.
The undisguised car which was spotted looked identical to the Nexon show car showcased recently at the 2017 Geneva Motor show. Towards the front profile, the compact SUV features a large honeycomb mesh grille with the Tata Motor logo at the centre. The headlamp unit looks quite similar to the ones found in the concept car showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in New Delhi. While the lower trims will get halogen lamps, the top end trim will receive projector units. Expect the front headlamp unit also to integrate LED daytime running lights as well. The front profile also gets aggressive looking bumpers which also houses round shaped fog lamps as well.
Nissan Kicks SUV To Make India Debut Towards End Of 2018
Nissan surely made a lot of headlines last year when they launched the new GT-R Supercar in India. Although they do not have any massive launches lined this year, they surely will impress the Indian crowd next year. Believe it or not, Nissan is all set to introduce the Kicks SUV in India in Q3 2018.
According to the latest reports, Nissan will be launching the Kicks SUV will be positioned above the Terrano SUV towards the end of 2018. The Kicks was unveiled in Brazil last year, and the model sold in the South American market underpins Nissan’s V platform. However, to cut the expense, the SUV will be launched in the Indian market will underpin a whole new platform codenamed HHA. The HHA is a modified version of Renaults much talked about MO platform which underpins cars like the Duster and Lodgy in India. Tata To Launch Nexon Compact SUV In October 2017
At a recent interview, Tata Motors Managing Director Guenter Butscheck has confirmed that Tata Motors will be launching the all new Nexon compact SUV in India towards the month of October 2017. To make it more clear the Tata Nexon SUV will launch in Indian market before Diwali 2017. There is no doubt in the fact that the car sales are highest during the festive seasons and almost all the auto manufacturer either comes up with a new product or tries to offer big discounts on their existing products.
Coming to the Nexon, this is Tata’s new generation product which was showcased as a concept for the first time at the 2016 Auto Expo and now recently it was showcased in its production form alongside the Tigor compact sedan which will launch in India on March 29th.
The range-topping compact SUV will get plenty of sophisticated and advanced technologies and features. The exterior will receive new projector headlamp unit and a LED daytime running lamps as well. The front grille gets finished in gloss black besides that front bumper will also house round shaped fog lamps. Towards the side profile, the SUV will feature bigger 17-inch alloy wheels. While the contrast roof will certainly also draw attention, the side profile will also feature roof rails as well. Towards the rear, the Nexon gets a stylish LED taillamps.
Tata To Launch Tigor Compact Sedan On 29th March
At the ongoing 2017 Geneva Motor show Tata Motors official confirmed that they will be launching the much awaited Tata Tigor compact sedan in India on 29th March 2017.
The production spec Tigor made its World premiere at the 87th Geneva Motor show. Tata Motors also showcased the Nexon SUV at the show which they also said will be launching in India towards the end of this year. According to Tata Motors, the Tigor has been designed like a styleback and it is not like any of the other 3 box sedans which are its rivals. The best thing about the upcoming sedan is that this will be the cheapest compact sedan which will be on sale in the Indian market.
As far as the styling is concerned the Tigor does get some extra features which come in the form of projector headlamps towards the front. The front bumper also has been tweaked to appear different from the ones found on the hatchback. Towards the side profile, the Tigor also gets bigger 15-inch alloy wheels as well. Expect the same cabin to be carried forward to the compact sedan from the hatchback.
Under the hood, the Tigor compact sedan will also share the same 1.2 Litre Revotron 3 cylinder unit from the hatchback while the diesel variant will get the 1.05 Litre Revotorq unit. Both the engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission while also expect Tata Motors to equip the top end variants with the recently introduced AMT gearbox as well.
Tata Motors Showcases The Tigor & Nexon At The 2017 Geneva Motor show

Maruti Vitara Brezza Adds Another Milestone To Its Name Crosses sells over 100,000 units
It has not exactly been one year since Maruti introduced the Vitara Brezza in India and within this short period the compact SUV went on to become the best seller in the compact SUV segment for eight months in a row. MSIL was able to sell over 100,000 units of the SUV.
The compact SUV was launched last year March after it was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The entire SUV was designed in-house by Maruti engineers. Presently the compact SUV is available only with a single 1, 248 cc, four cylinder turbo-diesel unit which is capable of producing about 90 Ps of peak power and 200 Nm of torque. The engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox which sends power to the front wheels.
The Brezza is one of the smartest SUV of the lot because it gets plenty of interior features to keep the occupants happy, for instance, the compact SUV gets a whole new infotainment system which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple car play, cooled upper glove box and much more. Hyundai To Launch 8 New Products Including Carlino Sub-4 Meter SUV Within Next 3 Years
According to the recent reports, Hyundai soon will be expanding their product portfolio in the Indian market. They have plans to introduce not one not two but a total of eight new products by the year 2020. Expect all the upcoming products to be technologically advanced, while three of these vehicles will be new segment products the rest will be full model changes apart from regular facelifts and updates.
However, the Hyundai company officials also made sure that besides just introducing new models they will also focus on bringing new technologies as well. These technologically advanced products will include "mild" and "full" hybrid, manual and automatic transmission and a turbo petrol engine.
The officials also said that they would showcase the Strong Ioniq Hybrid in India at the 2018 Auto Expo while they will also be launching the three new segment oriented products followed by the suv-4 meter SUV towards the first half of 2019.
