Upcoming Maruti Suzuki XL6 Spotted Testing Here Is What We know So Far

The next XL6 is one among many cars that Maruti will debut next year with some significant upgrades expected

Maruti Suzuki fans of India should be excited because India’s largest car manufacturer will launch at least three new updated cars alongside a few other products next year. We have already reported about the new Vitara Brezza SUV and the facelift Baleno hatchback earlier and, a few reports state that updated XL6 MPV will also join the lineup soon.

The XL6 was launched in 2019 and quickly became popular for its premium cabin and its crossover design. The heavily camouflaged test mule of the updated MPV was spotted testing recently. So here are a few things which we know about the upcoming 2022 Maruti Suzuki XL6.

A test mule of the updated XL6 was spotted recently carrying a few significant changes

The heavily covered test mule revealed only a few details about the exterior updates. You can expect the Crossover themed MPV to feature a new grille and bumper design. The headlamps, however, haven’t received any updates and look identical to the current model. It even features a slightly bigger wheel and a new wheel design which is a welcome change. The earlier 15 inch wheels looked puny compared to the
overall size of the MPV.

The rear profile will feature a restyled LED taillamp and bumper.

There are no spy shots of the cabin available yet but we believe that it will feature a redesigned dashboard with a freestanding infotainment screen

The image showcased here is of the current Maruti Suzuki XL6

The spy shot video does not reveal any details about the cabin. However, it will feature a new bigger freestanding touchscreen infotainment screen. The infotainment screen will get new wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology.

There will be no changes under the hood, the updated XL6 will use the same 1.5-litre, K15B Smart Hybrid powertrain,

The updated MPV will use the same 1.5 litre K15B SMART HYBRID petrol engine. The unit paired to a 5-speed manual and an optional 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox produces 77 kW of peak power and 138 Nm of peak torque in its current state of tune.

The 1.5 litre unit produces 103 hp of peak power and a peak torque output of 138 Nm, the engine is paired to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox

The XL6 will likely launch towards the second half of 2022 in India. You can expect a marginal price hike compared to the model already available on sale.
