Diesel Brezza vs Petrol Brezza
The dawn of the Indian Automobile Industry back in the 80s was marked as an event that heightened the advancements of other vehicle manufacturing companies. Maruti is an example of the first few automakers that improved and developed the sector quite efficiently.
Fast-forwarding to the present day, Maruti Suzuki (then Maruti) is now one of the best car manufacturers in the country. One such car that represents the brand’s identity quite vividly is the Vitara Brezza that comes with a K15B petrol engine. Earlier, there used to be a diesel variant too that faired well, however, it had to be dropped as BS6 regulations kicked in.
The two iterations of the Brezza have been capable of grabbing the attention and likes of customers. The design elements and styling are appealing to one’s eye and the performance it presents is staggering by far the standards of a compact SUV. Nonetheless, it has been an unanswered question as to which engine of the Brezza is the best in terms of performance. Although various comparisons of the Brezza have been conducted in the past, nobody has ever thought of a tug of war between the same car with two different powertrains.
A YouTuber ‘Sarthak Pandat’ has finally presented a “Tug Of War” between a diesel and a petrol-powered Brezza for the first time. We thought of sharing it with you as we found it quite interesting, so without further ado, let us get right to the details!
Round 1- Brezza Vs Brezza
The tug of war between the two vehicles is all set to begin. The YouTuber introduces the two vehicles to his viewers. He mentions that the Brezza with grey paint scheme is the petrol-powered vehicle while the white coloured Brezza is the one with a diesel engine. Further, a chain is used to hook up the two vehicles to conduct the test.
On the mark of three, the two vehicles begin to pull each other. The diesel-powered Brezza instantly took out its petrol-powered counterpart effortlessly thanks to the DDiS 200 Diesel Engine which churned out 88.5bhp and 200Nm of torque. Although the petrol engine is powerful on paper, it proved to be underpowered compared to the diesel engine which presents 200Nm of torque. It should have been the reason why it lost against the white coloured Brezza.
Due to the astonishing results that the diesel model presented, it had to be tested again whether the petrol model stands a chance against its counterpart. Once again, on the count of three, the drivers put their feet down on the throttle but yet again the diesel-powered Brezza turns out to be the winner.
Round three has a twist to it. The two drivers swap their cars to see if the results were due to driver error. Once again on the mark of three, the two vehicles put their maximum potential. The end results remain unchanged, The DDIS Brezza attains victory over the petrol model.
There are many factors at play that has determined this victory. The diesel model has wider tyres when compared to the petrol model that came stock. This could have given an advantage over the petrol model’s powerful engine. Nonetheless, the video surely is entertaining and it’s the first video that shows a tug of war between a petrol and diesel Brezza.
