The SUV is a direct competitor to the Ford Endeavor

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has already teased the new Fortuner SUV just few days ahead of its official launch. Toyota has decided to launch the new Fortuner on 7th November 2016 while some dealers have already started taking bookings for the SUV as well.

The new generation Toyota SUV will be based on the ladder frame chassis which also supports the Hilux trick as well as the new Innova Crysta SUV. The SUV definitely also is slightly bigger and looks quite sharp compared to its predecessor. The new features in the SUV include LED projector lamps which also get daytime running lamps as well inside. An electric tailgate, bigger alloy wheels and also LED tailamps towards the rear. The SUV also gets lot of new and interesting stuffs inside as well, to begin with the Fortuner gets a completely new dashboard which gets a big 7 inch T-Connect infotainment system with satellite navigation, this screen will also act as a screen for the reversing camera. It further also gets a push start/stop button start as well.The

Under the hood the new generation Fortuner will get the same 2.4 Liter and also the 2.8 Liter diesel engines. The smaller diesel unit is capable of producing about 149 ps of peak power and 343 nm of torque while the latter produces about 174 Ps of peak power and 360 Nm of torque. Both the engines come paired to a 6 speed manual as well as a 6 speed automatic gearbox as well. The SUV will also get a four wheel drive system for the top end variant. There is also a possibility that Toyota might introduce a petrol variant as well for Delhi and NCR regions. The only petrol variant on offer will most probably get the 2.7 Liter, four cylinder unit which produces about 166 ps and 245 nm of torque.

Expect the prices to be around INR. 30 Lakh rupee when this SUV launches in the Indian market.
