The Camry refresh has gotten dearer but the feature set is also just as exhaustive
Toyota has retained the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol-hybrid but the overall car has become much sharper with more features.
The Japanese carmaker has introduced a mid-cycle update for the Camry in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 41.7 lakh, ex-showroom, India, the new Camry Hybrid is now back on sale in the Indian market.
What has changed in the new Camry?
The new 2022 Camry Hybrid offers redesigned front bumper that adds a sporty touch to the design. Also, the car now comes with a tweaked grille and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear gets a revised tail lamp cluster. There are no changes on the side of Toyota’s premium sedan.
On the inside, there is now a new 9.0-inch infotainment system, which is bigger than before. Also, the Camry Hybrid now offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is also a new 9-speaker JBL system. The dashboard now gets a new wood effect with a composite pattern the adds a more contemporary look to the vehicle. Toyota has also added a new exterior colour - Metal stream metallic to the Camry. The engine and the mechanicals remain identical to the pre-facelift version of the car.
Speaking about the launch of the New Camry Hybrid, Mr Atul Sood, Associate Vice President, Sales and Strategic Marketing, TKM, said,

Since its introduction in 2013, the Camry Hybrid is well established in the Indian market and is a testament to Toyota’s unwavering efforts towards a carbon-neutral environment.”
No mechanical changes in the new Camry Hybrid
Toyota has not touched the mechanicals of the car. The 2022 Camry gets the same 2.5-litre petrol engine with a hybrid system. It produces a maximum power of 215 Bhp and a peak torque of 221 Nm. Toyota only offers a CVT automatic with the Camry but there are three modes to choose from.
The Camry Hybrid comes loaded with features though. One can get features like a 10-way adjustable driver seat with memory, wireless charger, heads-up display, reclining rear seats, power rear sunshade and three-zone automatic climate control system.
