The upcoming sportscar will make it into production soon and will be launched here by 2018

Tata Motors have introduced their sub brand TAMO yesterday and also have announced their future mobility solution to be called ’FutuReady’. The Indian Auto Manufacturer even teased their first product which will be unveiled for the first time at the upcoming 87th Geneva Motors show in March 2017. Surprisingly! Their first product under their new sub brand will be a two seater mid-engined sports car concept that the AUto manufacturer will showcase at the Upcoming Motorshow.

The Sportscar concept from Tata Motors is called Futuro internally. Only 250 units of the car will be built by Tata Motors and the good news is that the upcoming Sportscar will be priced in the range of 25 Lakh rupees. The production version of the Future Sporstcar will go on sale in the Indian markets by the year 2018.

Not much detail of the sports car is available at this moment, but it is expected to get a turbocharged 1.2 liter petrol engine which will be capable of producing about 180+ HP of peak power. Although the power figures may not impress many, but the sports car will actually weigh only 800 kilograms. So what does that means is that the upcoming product from Tata Motors will actually have an impressive power to weight ratio.

Now, according to some reports the 2 star mid engine sportscar will take its styling inspiration from the Opel Speedster or (Vauxhall VX220).

This won’t actually be the first time that Tata Motors are actually trying their luck on a sports car. Back at the 2000 Geneva Motor show, the Auto manufacturer did showcased a Roadster and a Coupe variant a year after at the 2001 Motor show. But these cars never saw the daylight. Hopefully the Futuro Sportscar will make it into production and will perhaps be the cheapest sporstcar of the Indian market after offcourse DC Avanti.
