Tata Motors has recently revealed the all-new Tata Punch sub-compact SUV in the Indian market. The Tata Punch is creating a lot of hype as it has turned out to be a great sub-compact SUV in initial impressions. Though the Tata Punch sits below the Tata Nexon in the company’s line-up, it is fairly spacious, offers loads of features and has a potent 1.2-litre petrol motor. Now, even the safety rating of the Tata Punch has leaked online and it is the most affordable car in India to get a 5-Star Global NCAP safety rating.
Tata Punch 5-Star Safety Rating?
Tata Motors has not yet officially revealed the safety rating of the new Tata Punch. However, for a brief time period, the company’s official website showed that the all-new Tata Punch has been awarded a 5-Star safety rating from the crash testing agency - Global NCAP. We managed to take a screengrab of the same, however, the details are no longer visible on the website. But, in case Tata Punch’s 5-Star Safety Rating comes out to be true, it will be a great achievement for Tata Motors. Also, it will become the most affordable car in India to get a 5-Star Safety Rating.
The new Tata Punch is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that develops 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT. It even gets start/stop functionality to aid fuel efficiency. However, the company is not offering any turbo petrol engine or diesel engine in this mini SUV.
Launch Date and Price
The new Tata Punch will be launched in India on October 20, 2021. This new sub-compact SUV is expected to be priced in India from around Rs 5 lakhs and the top variant might retail around Rs 8 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. The new Tata Punch will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Mahindra KUV100, etc.
