Indian customers are known for their love for SUVs. At the same time they want better space, loads of features, off-roading capability, tough look and of course a stylish appearance. While the compact SUV segment is getting popular with every passing day, due to the easy affordability, the higher priced large SUVs are also quite popular among customers. Such three SUVs under the sub 30 lakh price bar are Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Toyota Fortuner is certainly the most popular SUV in the segment and it is also the best sold model.

Toyota Fortuner comes with a muscular appearance, which is not so stylish but very much practical. It is well capable to cater the needs of the customers both on smooth city roads and off roads as well. Toyota has already unveiled the new generation Fortuner, which will be launched in Indian market soon. The new generation Fortuner looks much better than the previous one. It gets a stylish front fascia with sleek headlamps, LED daytime running lights, horizontally slated front grille with chrome embellishment, chrome garnished fog lamp clusters. The masculinity is clearly visible in the cars. Compare to the outgoing model the next generation Fortuner is lot sharper. The new Fortuner boasts a stylish interior as well, which gets multifunction steering wheel, dual pod analog display and a digital screen at the classy and practical instrument cluster. The centre console gets a futuristic look with a boxy shape and it houses a large touchscreen infotainment system.

Power source for the car is a 2.8 litre 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine which gets mated to a 6 speed manual transmission, while there is a 6 speed automatic transmission is on offer as well. This powertrain produces 174 hp peak power and 400 – 420 Nm of peak torque in the manual variant. The automatic variant comes with 450 Nm peak torque.

2016 Ford Endeavour Exterior

Ford has recently launched the new generation Endeavour which has garnered lot of appreciation. The new generation Endeavour looks way much better than the previous model. It gets a butch look blended with style. The front fascia gets an octagonal grille garnished in shiny chrome, sleek and sharp headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, muscular bumper, and thick skid plate at the front fascia. The side profile also shows off the masculinity. Inside the cabin the car sports multifunction steering wheel, an instrument cluster consisting both analog and digital display. The centre console looks upmarket and stylish, which houses 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Ford SYNC 2 connectivity technology. The sunroof delivers an airy feeling to the seven seater cabin.

Power comes from a 2.2 litre 4 cylinder TDCi diesel engine mated to a 6 manual gearbox and a 6 speed automatic transmission as option. The car produces 158 hp peak power and 385 Nm peak torque. It is available in both 4x2 and 4x4 driving options. It comes with another engine in form of a 3.2 litre 5 cylinder TDCi engine which gets mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels. This powertrain churns out 197 hp peak power and 470 Nm peak torque.

2012 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

Although Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour are the two most popular players in the segment, but Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has quite some takers as well. This vehicle looks a bit more stylish compare to the Fortuner and Endeavour. The car gets sharp headlamps, teeth like aggressive front grille, chrome garnishing, muscular bumper, skid plate. The huge wheel arches, alloy wheels, long wheelbase altogether makes the car appear big enough to attract eyes. The interior comes with multifunction steering wheel, plush leather upholsteries, comfortable and spacious seating arrangements. Mitsubishi will bring the new Pajero Sport in near future, which gets an all new front fascia. The next generation Pajero Sport will come with more distinguished fascia. The new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is expected to come with more features. It will get power from a 2.4 litre 4 cylinder turbo diesel MIVEC engine mated to a 6 speed manual transmission which will churn out around 158 hp peak power and 430 Nm peak torque. It will also get a 5 speed automatic gearbox.
