Talking about the exterior comparison between the 2018 Nissan Micra and the Maruti-Suzuki Baleno, the latter looks polished and suave compare to the Micra. The Nissan hatchback looks rugged and aggressive in its latest avatar. The new Micra sports a radically different design compare to the outgoing model. It features trim and sleek headlamp clusters with LED daytime running lights, chrome garnished V motion grille. The front bumper comes aggressive looking. Talking about the side profile the car gets sporty alloy wheels, flared wheel arches, flowing crisp character lines, floating roof, blackened thick C pillar. Meanwhile the Maruti-Suzuki Baleno looks less aggressive than the Micra. The Baleno features swept back sharp headlamps with LED daytime running lights, chrome garnished V shaped grille. The side profile boasts a clean look with subtle character lines. Enhancing the appeal are the features like alloy wheels, blackened glass area, floating roof design, LED taillamps, roof spoiler.

The interior of the new Nissan Micra is yet to be revealed. But we can expect the interior of the 2018 Micra to come bearing design cues from the Nissan Sway concept, which was showcased at 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Expect the car to feature a multifunction steering wheel, dual analog dials and a TFT display consisting instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console. The interior would don a dual tone colour theme. Also expect more space out of the cabin compare to the outgoing model. The upholsteries will become upmarket as well.

The center console features a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and SmartPlay. The interior of Baleno is spacious. It comes with a blackened theme, which makes the cabin sporty.
The outgoing Nissan Micra is powered by a 1.2 litre DOHC petrol engine mated to a CVT gearbox. It churns out 76 PS of peak power and 104 Nm of peak torque. It offers 19.34 kmpl of fuel economy. Another engine is a 1.5 litre SOHC engine paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox generating 64 PS of peak power and 160 Nm of peak torque. It delivers fuel economy of 23.08 kmpl.
The Maruti-Suzuki Baleno on the other hand gets power from a 1.2 litre petrol engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission kicking out 84 PS of peak power and 115 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine is a 1.3 litre DDiS engine which is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox kicking out 75 PS of peak power and 190 Nm of peak torque. The petrol and diesel Baleno offers fuel economy of 21.4 kmpl and 27.39 kmpl respectively.

The outgoing Nissan Micra is priced between INR. 5.99 lakh to INR. 6.93 lakh. Expect the new model to come higher priced. While on the other hand the Maruti-Suzuki Baleno is priced between INR. 5.15 lakh to INR. 8.33 lakh.
