based on a new platform and also gets new drivetrains

Chevrolet recently introduced the Cruze facelift in India and although we all have expected that Chevrolet would perhaps launch the new generation car in the Indian market but that unfortunately was not the case.

Recently the new generation 2017 Cruze was caught testing on the roads of Brazil and what it appears like that it definitely looks a lot different than the car which is available for sale in the Indian market. Although the car which was caught testing was wrapped in heavy camouflage but some of the design elements was visible.

Take the front grille for example, the 2017 Cruze loses the huge boring front grille and wears a much more aggressive and sharp looking grille. The front headlamps also look different and much more in line with that of the new Cruze launched in the US market. The swooping roofline and the rear taillamps too looks identical to the ones you will find in the US spec variant. Talk about styling and the new Cruze definitely looks sharper and gets a hexagonal grille towards the front while all the extra muscle has now been replaced with shaper and edgy lines. The C-pillar of the new generation Cruze has also been redesigned. And it adds a dynamic appearance towards the side profile. The rear taillamps also has been restyled.

The Chevrolet Cruze is also based on a new D2XX platform while its body structure has also been stiffened. Under the hood the new generation Chevrolet Cruze gets number of engine options, the 1.4 Litre DOHC I-4 petrol unit is capable of producing about 153 Hp of peak power and 240 Nm of torque. This new engine is paired to either a standard 6 speed manual or a size speed automatic transmission.
