Evo India was able to spot the new generation Audi A3 while it was being tested on the streets of Mumbai. The reports state that Audi will be launching the new A4 here in the month of August 2016; this is actually a part of their plan to introduce 10 new products this year.

The A4 was already displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo New Delhi; the new sedan looks quite different from the ongoing model. The A4 has gotten a lot sharper and carries Audi’s new design language. The front headlamps are completely new unit (it also gets option Matrix headlamp setup), so is the new single piece grille. Even the taillamps are all new which gives this car a new character. The new A4 uses a lot of lightweight materials in its construction which has actually reduced the overall weight of the sedan. The best thing about this new sedan is that it is longer, wider as well as taller than the existing A4.

Although there were no images or spyshots available of the interior but the new A4 gets a refreshed interior, it also gets completely new dashboard, while the steering wheel is also new. Because the new A4 is longer than the sedan it will replace soon there is more knee as well as shoulder room for the rear seat passengers. The front dashboard is also new and gets huge AC vents which runs from the center console all the way towards the front passenger side.

As far as the drievtarins are concerned the new A4 will most likely get the 2.0L four-cylinder TDI diesel engine which will be capable of producing about 188 Bhp of peak power and an impressive 400 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission however there will also be an option to go for the 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox. The higher grade will most probably be offered with a bigger 3.0 Litrer V6 diesel unit as well which makes about 272 Bhp of peak power. Beside the diesel engines Audi will likely also offer petrol units as well.

The new Audi A4 will compete directly against the Mercedes C Class, Jaguar XE and the BMW 3 series. Expect the new sedan to be priced at around INR. 40-50 Lakhs ex showroom.
