MG Motor might soon launch a newer version of the MG ZS EV in India as spy shots of the model sold internationally, have surfaced online. Read on to find out more about it!
MG ZS EV
The automotive market in India has been seeing great momentum in terms of sales, thanks to the advent of advanced technology in the country. The entire automotive industry is seeing a paradigm shift as electric vehicles take the sector by storm thanks to improvements in charging infrastructure and better batteries and driving range. The introduction of EVs has certainly opened the gateway to safer and more sustainable means of transportation products.
Nonetheless, due to the success of the last ZS in India, MG Motor might introduce the facelifted version of the ZS EV that globally made its entry back in October 2021. We say this because the latest version of the vehicle has been already been spotted testing in India.
What it might offer
The test mule in the spy shot courtesy of Rushlane is heavily camouflaged, but, few details have surfaced. The wheels are also not covered so it is safe to state that India might be getting a new facelift model of the ZS EV quite soon. We expect the India-bound car to feature the same design characteristics seen on the international model. The facelift will see a revised headlamp and taillight design along with restyled bumpers.
Furthermore, it could also see some updates to the interior as well. The international model features a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a new instrument cluster that has all the info you need for driving around with ease. Smartphone connectivity options like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be present with the system.
Powertrain and specs
As for its powertrain, the vehicle should offer a choice of two battery pack options- 51 kWh and 72 kWh like the globally sold facelift model, which can see up to 440 km between charges. Besides, the current model in India comes with a 44.5kWh battery pack which along with the electric motor, has the capacity to produce 143PS of power.
