Jeep Grand Cherokee will be launched in three trims in India
American iconic SUV brand Jeep is all geared up to enter the Indian market. At the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year in February the automaker made its debut in India with three products which were Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Jeep Grand Cherokee and the performance oriented Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.
Although the auto manufacturer has been delaying the launches in the country, but recently Jeep has published the details of the upcoming Grand Cherokee in its official Indian website. The Grand Cherokee will be coming available in three different trims, which are Limited, Summit and the SRT. All these three models come equipped with two year unlimited kilometers of warranty.
Here we will take a close look at the Jeep models and their bits and facts.
THREE DIFFERENT TRIMS
The Jeep Grand Cherokee will be sold in three different trims, which are Limited, Summit and the high performance SRT. The Limited trim will be the entry level model, while the Summit will be the top trim for the standard model. The SRT will come more powerful and some additional performance oriented equipments. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited will sport identical fascia, with bi-xenon HID headlamps, LED daytime running lights, 18 inch polished aluminium wheels. The Summit will come bearing a bit differently shaped shape bi-xenon HID automatic headlamps, LED daytime running lights, 20 inch aluminium wheels. Both the Limited and Summit will sport premium fog lamps, LED taillamps, and same muscular appearance at side profile. The Limited trim will feature black cladding, while the Summit will sport body coloured cladding. The SRT will come with adaptive bi-xenon HID headlamps, dedicated daytime running headlamps, premium fog lamps and LED taillights.
Both the Limited and Summit comes painted in Black and Beige dual tone theme, while the SRT comes in a sporty black theme. All the three trims come with front and rear interior LED lamps, illuminated cup holders, illuminated entry, and sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors. The Summit and SRT get under seat lighting. All the tree trims come featuring 12V auxiliary power outlet at both front and rear, auto dimming rear view mirror with microphone, driver’s auto dimming wing mirror, dual zone automatic temperature control, electronic vehicle information centre, exterior temperature and compass display, heated steering wheel, tyre pressure monitoring system, power dual pane sunroof etc. Otherwise the three trims comes featuring multifunction steering wheel, sleek instrument cluster and large touchscreen infotainment system. The SRT trim gets SRT spec brushed aluminium pedals.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and Summit come powered by a 3.0 litre V6 eco diesel engine which is paired with an 8 speed automatic gearbox and churns out 240 hp of peak power. The SRT comes powered by a more powerful larger 6.4 litre Hemi V8 engine which mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission churns out 475 hp of peak power. All the three Grand Cherokee variants come equipped with four wheel drive system. Additionally the SRT gets high performance Brembo brakes with active dumping suspension.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee variants will come equipped with various safety features including terrain selection system for off roading purposes, airbags, Electronic Stability Control or ESC, traction control and rear parking camera.
