Maruti-Suzuki has clearly a strong grab in the bestselling segment

As the demand for new cars in India are constantly rising, the auto manufacturers present in the country are on a spree to deliver new models and facelifts to the customers. In recent times we have seen quite a few new models introduced in the country. Not only that, it is also expected that the Indian market is about to experience the entry of several new models in the country in few years.

Meanwhile, we take a look at the cars which has become the hottest selling models recently in the country in very short span of time. No wonder, among the top five list Maruti-Suzuki has a strong presence, while the other automakers like Toyota and Tata Motors are also fighting to get a spot in the list. Here, let’s take a look at the top five hot selling cars of the country at present.


2016 Maruti-Suzuki Vitara Brezza Exterior High Quality

Maruti-Suzuki Vitara Brezza was first unveiled at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo. The Vitara Brezza is the Indo Japanese automaker’s first attempt in the compact SUV segment, which is one of the most popular segments in the country. In May, 2016 the car sold 7193 units in the domestic market, which made it the best selling model of the country.

Powered by a 1.3 litre DDiS 200 diesel engine the car produces 90 PS of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque, while the transmission duty is done by a 5 speed manual gearbox.

On the design front the car looks aggressive and bold with its unique styling both at the exterior and inside the cabin. It features sharp headlamps with LED daytime running lights, aggressive front grille, skid plate, roof rail. Inside the cabin Vitara Brezza features multifunction steering wheel, cockpit styled instrument cluster with ambient lighting, piano black finished center console with touchscreen infotainment system.


2016 Toyota Innova Crysta Exterior

Toyota has launched the Innova Crysta earlier this year, which is the next generation Innova. The Toyota Innova is undoubtedly the best selling and most popular MPV of India for nearly a decade. The new Innova Crysta comes with a completely different look which is premium and very appealing. In May, 2016 the Toyota Innova Crysta has already scored nearly 7000 units, which marks the popularity of the car.

Power source for the car is a 2.4 litre GDI diesel engine which is paired with a 5 speed manual transmission churning out 154 PS of peak power and 343 Nm of peak torque. There is a bigger engine as well in form of 2.8 litre GDI diesel, which is mated to a 6 speed automatic gearbox and produces 177 PS of peak power and 360 Nm of peak torque.

The Toyota Innova Crysta’s designing features wrap around sleek headlamps, LED daytime running lights, massive front bumper, alloy wheels, boomerang shaped taillights at exterior, while the interior sports multifunction steering wheel, sleek instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, captain seats at the middle row, multiple storage compartments, wooden trim at the dashboard.


2016 Tata Tiago Exterior

Latest entrant to the hatchback segment from Tata Motors is the Tiago, which was launched few months back and has become quite popular in very short time. The automaker is also gearing up to launch a Tiago based crossover which will be christened as Tiago Aktiv.

Tata Tiago is available in both the petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2 litre Revotron engine, mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and generating 85 PS of peak power, while the diesel variant gets a 1.05 litre Revotorq unit mated to a 5 speed manual transmission and kicking out 70 PS of peak power.

The Tiago has been designed following the company’s latest IMPACT design language, which is incorporated in other models like Tata Bolt, Tata Zest and the upcoming Tata Kite 5 sedan as well. The Tiago sports piano black smiling grille, sharp headlamps, slated air intake, sharp character lines at exterior. Inside the cabin it features multifunction steering wheel, dual pod instrument cluster, piano black finished centre console with MID.


2015 Hyundai Creta Exterior High Quality

Launched last year the Hyundai Creta is a very popular car in the ever happening compact SUV segment of Indian market. The car has sold 7059 units in May 2016 to become the second best selling SUV of the country’s domestic market.

The Hyundai Creta is available in both the petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 1.6 litre unit, while the diesel variant is available in two different engine options. The smaller unit is a 1.4 litre engine, while the larger unit is a 1.6 litre one. The transmission options include both manual and automatic gearbox.

Designed following the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language the Hyundai Creta looks rugged and muscular, and pretty sharp as well. At exterior the car features sharp headlamps with LED daytime running lights, hexagonal front grille with chrome garnishing, vertically positioned fog lamps, large air intake, and skid plate. Inside the cabin the car offers upmarket features and comfortable experience to the occupants.


2016 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Exterior High Quality

Maruti-Suzuki Baleno is the company’s offering in the premium hatchback segment and the car has sold more than 50000 units in just six months. Launched last year the Baleno is sold through the automaker’s premium dealership Nexa.

Maruti-Suzuki Baleno’s powertrain include a 1.2 litre DOHC engine paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox churning out 84 PS of peak power and 115 Nm of peak torque, while the diesel variant gets a 1.3 litre turbocharged Multidiesel DDiS 200 engine which is also paired with a 5 speed manual transmission and produces 76 PS of peak power and 190 Nm of peak torque.

On the design front the car features sharp headlamps with LED daytime running lights, V shaped chrome embellished front grille, alloy wheels, LED taillamps, while inside the cabin the car sports multifunction steering wheels, sleek instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console.
