Crash test rating agency – Global NCAP has released new test results of the Mahindra XUV700. The new car has become the fifth safest car on the Indian market.
Mahindra XUV700 Safety Rating
Global NCAP tested the entry-level variant of the XUV700 that gets dual airbags, ABS and ISOFIX mounts for the child seats. After crash testing the car at a speed of 64 km/h from the front and side, it received the rating.
The XUV700 scored 16.03 points out of 17 in the adult safety rating. The car’s structure is also rated as stable and the potential injuries to the front row passengers are also marginal.
For child safety, the XUV700 received 41.66 out of 49, which is the highest ever for any car that has been manufactured in India.
Recommendation to add optional airbags
The safety crash test agency has recommended that the Mahindra XUV700 should offer airbags as optional equipment with the lower variants. But one should note that the top-end variant of the car comes with as many as seven airbags, ESC, and even an ADAS system.
The Mahindra XUV700 has gained massive popularity in India and gathered more than 75,000 bookings in just a few hours since it went on sale. New buyers booking the car now will get it after a year at least.
