This conventional six-speed automatic torque converter is the best one you can buy in this segment and price bracket
Ford has come up with an automatic gearbox for the petrol trims of the Figo hatchback. The gearbox is a six-speed automatic torque converter. It is arguably better than the jerky AMTs and the lousy CVTs, and a lot more reliable than the dual-clutch gearboxes available in the market. The six-speed automatic transmission comes with a Sports Mode for quicker shifts and a SelectShift option for manual shifts using a toggle switch on the gear lever.
It will be offered only on the 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine that makes 95 horsepower and 119 Nm of torque. The car will be offered in five different exterior shades:
- Ruby Red
- Diamond White
- Smoke Grey
- Moondust Silver
- White Gold
The other features offered on the Figo AT include:
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Electrochromic inside rearview mirror
- Front, side, and curtain airbags
- Hill launch assist
- Electronic stability control
- Traction control system
The only catch with the seven-inch touchscreen is that it doesn’t support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The Ford Figo AT is priced at ₹7.75 lakhs for Titanium and ₹8.20 lakhs for the Titanium+, which seems to be spot-on. It even comes with a 3-year/1,00,000-km warranty as standard and a 10,000-km service interval
But, such is the car’s credibility in the market that Ford might have to struggle to bring in sales volume. What do you think about the Ford Figo AT? Would you buy it if you were in the market for an automatic hatch? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
