The paint alone used on this RR is 45 kgs of the darkest sinister shade of Black out there
Revealed in October last year, Rolls Royce is all set to bring the Ghost Black Badge to the Indian market later this year. The opulent luxury sedan gets a more powerful engine and is better to drive as well.
Rolls Royce has confirmed the arrival of the all-new Black Badge in the Indian market only months after its official reveal in the international markets.
What makes the Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge special?
Black Badge line-up has gained popularity in the international markets with Rolls Royce selling one out of every four cars. In its second generation, the Black Badge Rolls Royce Ghost gets 45kg of darkest paint available on a production car. Rolls Royce has atomised and applied the paint electrostatically before covering it in two layers of clear coat and finally polishing by hand.
There are a lot of black elements on the car, including the front grille and the Spirit of Ecstasy. The car also gets 21-inch bespoke composite wheels. Although Black Badge customers can choose from over 44,000 ’ready-to-wear’ exterior colours we believe that most buyers will stick with the model-specific black colour.
The RR Ghost Black Badge is more powerful
Apart from looking sharper and bolder, the Ghost Black Badge is more powerful too. Rolls Royce churns out more power from the same 6.75-litre V12 engine. The RR Ghost Black Badge now generates a maximum power of 600 PS and a peak torque of 900 Nm. It is 29 PS and 50 Nm more powerful.
Rolls Royce has also added a bespoke throttle map and has re-tuned the suspension, the all-wheel-drive, and all-wheel steering system to improve the driving dynamics and reduce the body-roll during cornering. There is a new ‘Low’ drive mode that sharpens the gearshifts and tweaks the exhaust note as well.
The Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge is likely to cost around Rs 7 crore, ex-showroom. Last year, Rolls Royce sold the largest number of cars around the world and expects that demand to rise further.
