New styling, updated interior and upgraded diesel unit is what sets it apart from the rest

Hyundai has recently launched the facelift Xcent compact sedan in India after they introduced the facelift Grand i10 hatchback. Initially, before the Xcent was launched we all thought that the Xcent would also receive the same cosmetic changes that the Grand i10 has received but that were not the case. The Xcent now that it has been launched gets a refreshed styling, better equipment list and off course an updated powertrain.

Below provided are 5 quick points on why you will actually love the new facelift Xcent compact sedan.

The Xcent does not look like its hatchback Counterpart anymore

The new styling is the most valid point on why you will appreciate the Xcent facelift more. Hyundai has tried to give the compact sedan its unique identity. Not only does the new compact sedan looks entirely different from the pre-facelift model but it also looks different than the recently introduced Grand i10 hatchback as well. Towards the front, the Xcent gets a differently styled grille, while the hatchback comes with mesh grille the sedan gets Horizontal bars. This type of grille pattern can also be seen in some other Hyundai sedans as well like the Elantra. The front bumper also has been completely redesigned as well. The headlamp design also is slightly different from the hatchback Counterpart as well which has helped give the Xcent its own unique identity. With all these changes the Xcent now looks big and more like a proper sedan.

The Xcent is definitely one of the most well equipped compact sedans of its segment for sure. The updated compact sedan gets a new 7.0 Inch touchscreen which comes with Smartphone navigation and mirror link. The Ergonomically designed rear seat gets centre arm console which gets cup holders as well. Not to forget this is one of the few cars in its segment which also comes with rear AC Vents. The top end variants also get fully automatic temperature control.

Previously many complained that the Xcent gets an underpowered diesel engine and in this facelift model Hyundai has taken care of that issue and upgraded the diesel engine. Both the facelift Grand i10 hatchback and the Xcent sedan now has dumped the old 1.1-litre oil burner and gone for the bigger 1.2-litre CRDi unit which produces a healthy 75PS and 190Nm of torque. The petrol variant, on the other hand, continues with the old 1.2 Litre unit which produces about 83 Ps and 110 Nm of torque. While the Xcent gets 5-speed manual transmission as standard, there is also a 4-speed automatic transmission on offer as well.

Hyundai has taken care of the safety passengers of its occupants inside and decided to make both driver and passenger side airbags as standard across the range. Unfortunately, the Xcent does not get ABS as standard across the range and is available only in the top SX and SX(O) trim.

The facelift Xcent gets many updated features like LED daytime running lights and 7.0-inch infotainment system with smartphone-based navigation, push start/stop button, rear AC vents, cooled glove box, standard front and side passenger airbags and also a rear parking camera.

With all the above features we can call Xcent a value for money sub-4m sedan who prices start at INR 538,381 ex-showroom Delhi.
