Gets the most powerful V10 unit ever installed in a Lamborghini

Lamborghini showcased their range topping Huracan at the ongoing 87th Geneva Motor show. The range-topping Huracan will be called Huracan Performante. The Coupe comes with new styling and offcourse some tweaks to the powertrain. As a result of that the 5.2 Litre V10 unit now has become the most powerful V10 drivetrain ever installed in a Lamborghini.

The new Huracan Performante combines all the lightweight technologies, active aerodynamics with aero vectoring and a new set-up of chassis. It further also gets an all wheel drive system along with an improved powertrain. This car has been built to achieve the best lap time in the circuit and also provide the most engaging drive experience on the road.

To keep the overall weight down Lamborghini has used hybrid aluminium and carbon fibre frame to keep the overall weight down. The forged composite carbon fibre has also is used to make the front and rear spoiler, rear bumper and diffuser. All the use these lightweight materials have helped in reducing the overall weight of the car by 40 kilograms. The new car also features companies latest Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva which is their newest active aerodynamic technology which provides maximum downforce and low drag setup by adjusting the front flaps and spoiler at the rear. Just like the exterior the cabin also features carbon fibre materials for some cabin parts like AirCon vents, transmission paddles behind the steering wheel, door handles, and the centre console. It further also gets new digital cockpit displays which can be used to configure different driving modes: Strada, Sport or Corsa, with a display dedicated to the ALA detailing data on downforce and drag.

The Huracan Performante is powered by the same 5.2 Litre V10 unit which powers the standard Huracan. However, the engine has been tuned to deliver 630 bhp of peak power and 600 Nm of peak torque. The engine paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission that sends power to all the four wheels. With all that extra power the Performante is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h mark in 2.9 seconds while it can reach a top speed of 325 kmph. Lamborghini was able to extract the additional power by optimising Engine fluid dynamics for both intake and exhaust while the Titanium valves allow higher lifts to increase engine permeability and performance.

The suspension system also has been stiffened by 10% over the standard Huracán coupé via both springs and bars, and roll stiffness improved by 15%. The stiffness of the radial and axial arm bushings has also been enhanced by 50%, significantly which has increased the lateral control of the car.
