A video of the next generation Audi R8 Spyder testing has emerged. The car was spotted testing on the Nurburgring Nordschleife race track in Germany, and on the roads around the track.

We expect the R8 Spyder to look similar to the R8 Coupe that was launched at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. At the rear, it will get a few aerodynamic upgrades, and a flat rear deck with air vents for cooling the massive engine. Just like the outgoing R8 Spyder, the new one will feature a soft top. Audi is using after soft top even as Ferrari and McLaren chose the hard top for the 488 Spider and the 650S Spider respectively.

The new car will be powered by a 5.2 litre V10 engine in two states of tune. In the base car, it will produce 540 hp and 540 Nm of torque. In the V10 Plus variant, it produces 610 hp and 560 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The Spyder will be a little heavier than the Coupe.

The next generation of the Audi R8 Spyder will be launched at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November.
