Bugatti Chiron Unveiled: Few Things You Should Know About This Hypercar
Finally It’s here! We have seen this supercars mule being tested on number of occasion and along with numerous spyshots all over the internet. The good news is that Bugatti has released the official images and details of their much awaited Supercar Chiron which actually takes forward the legacy of their now discontinued predecessor Veyron.
‘Shear Madness’, ‘Power’ and ‘luxury’ are perhaps the three words which describe the Chiron perfectly.
Talk about its styling and we can assure you that Bugatti believes in revolution and not exactly evolution because the overall silhouette of the car still takes all its inspiration from its predecessor the Veyron, however the subtle changes made to its styling still manages to give this car its very own unique identity. But Bugatti’s products are not known for their styling exactly infact many didn’t liked the overall styling of the Veyron at all. Powering the Chiron is the reworked version of the same 8.0 Liter W16 engine which is capable of producing (believe it or not) 1479 Bhp of peak power and an equally impressive 1599 NM of torque in between 2000 rpm and 6000 rpm.
It is quite obvious that all that power means an outrageous performance and surely the Chiron does not actually disappoint you here at all. The Bugatti Veyron’s successor is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h mark in just 2.5 seconds, while its maximum speed is restricted to just 420 km/h mark (Are you happy with its top speed? Hopefully there will enough roads to actually drive this car).
Bugatti has released a new teaser video of their upcoming Supercar Chiron which will make its global debut at the upcoming 2016 Geneva Motor show. Although don’t get too excited because even in this teaser video no details about the interior or exterior has been revealed.
This definitely is the fastest hypercar which is capable of reaching unbelievable speeds. As far as its drivetrain is concerned it will continue to use the same 8.0 Liter W16 unit which will be capable of producing an impressive 1500 Hp of peak power and 1500 NM of torque output. The engine will most probably be paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This hypercar will be capable to sprint from 0-100 km/h mark in under 2.5 seconds while 0-300 km/h mark can be reached in just 15 seconds. Recently the rumors are that the Chiron will be capable of hitting a a top speed of 467 km/h mark.
As far as the styling is concerned the Chiron will carry the same roundish type shape as we have seen on Veyron, towards the front expect a huge windscreen which will give the driver a good view of the road ahead, while towards the rear expect a huge spoiler which will help the Chiron to cut through air and also help it in its braking.
The new teaser video says that the new upcoming Hypercar will break new dimension. Watch this exclusive teaser video and do tell us what do you think of this Hypercar.
We already have reported earlier that there is a fair chance that the Bugatti Veyron’s successor will most probably be called ‘Chiron’ (Read the news here). Now Bugatti has officially revealed that the successor of one of their most successful production car ever will indeed be called Chiron.
The Chiron is actually named after Louis Chiron who is actually a legendary racing car driver and won all the major grand prix races for Bugatti in the 1920s and 1930s. Apart from the name Bugatti also revealed that this supercar will be unveiled at the 86th Geneva Motor Show in 2016. The Chiron will carry forward the legacy of its predecessor Veyron and will also be an equally fast perhaps faster, more powerful and luxurious and even exclusive sports car.
Bugatti has also shown the new Chiron to a few selected and elite groups of customers and they received 100 pre-orders already. Bugatti already revealed that the Chiron is actually going through the last stages of testing and they also revealed that number of prototypes is already on road in different continents for testing and fine tuning purposes and even collecting data’s and details under variety of road and climate conditions.
Bugatti has sold out the Veyron which happens to be one of the greatest cars of the present century. However Bugatti has decided to launch a successor of the Veyron and they have been developing this car for a long time now. It was spotted couple of times already being tested on the road and even on the race track.
Recently Topspeed.com provided us with a real life rendering image of the Chiron which definitely gives us a hint of the design of this much awaited upcoming supercar. We also expect that the Chiron will fulfill the few shortcomings that its predecessor had. Expect the Chiron to actually carry the same shape like its predecessor Veyron but it offcourse will look different than its successor. While the Veyron had little roundish shape towards the front, we expect the Chiron to be way more shaper. However expect the Chiron to carry a similar styled front grille with the Bugatti logo. The Chiron will also carry larger air vents towards the front which will not only help in its overall aerodynamics but also will keep its huge engine cool. Expect the Chiron to carry the same huge windshield which gives the driver commanding view of the road ahead.
Apart from the exterior the interior too will get some thorough change as well. We expect the Chiron to actually have from much more comfortable seats while we also expect it to get an improved ergonomics as well.
Coming to the drivetrain, well! The upcoming Chiron will get the same engine carried over from its successor Veyron. That’s right the Veyron was all about its engine and performance and Bugatti has taken years to actually research and come up with such a powerful and refined Drivetrain. Thus we expect the Chiron to actually use the massive 8.0-liter W-16 unit, but certain changes is expected in this drivetrain to make it even more powerful and much more refined unit. First of all the massive 8.0 Liter unit will get new electronic turbo units which will actually replace the existing two turbo units apart from some other mechanical upgrades as well which we are certainly not sure about yet.
Bugatti usually concentrates their efforts in designing and building a car towards an exclusive group of customers. But now, for the first time, they have created something specially for the fans. They are now reaching out to millions of fans and gamers with the new Vision Gran Turismo.
The car draws inspiration from the racing success that Bugatti found in the 1920s and 1930s. Major inspiration has been taken from the Bugatti Type 57 Tank which won the 24-hour Le Mans race in 1937 and 1939.
The car was developed with Polyphony Digital Inc. They are the creators of the Gran Turismo video game franchise.
Vision Gran Turismo is a project in which the world’s leading brands develop concept cars for the game.
Bugatti for the first time revealed atleast some details of their much awaited Veyron but don’t get too excited because they have not released any images of the car but only a teaser video.
There is some more bad news here also the video that was released does not give us the glimpse of the car instead we can only hear a noise of the what sound to be like the new engines roar, along with that we also hear some voiceovers at the background which tells, “In the endless hunt for speed, the horizon beckons and get beyond reality Pushed forward by pure instinct. Every inch of the race sets me free, I chase the day and night and the new dawn. Imagine the impossible”.
As of now one thing is almost clear to us that the Bugatti Veyron successor will most probably be called the Chiron and it will most probably be called the Chiron and it will hit the International market by next year. Although Bugatti has not released any details of the car but it was spotted couple of times being tested and although it may look different from its predecessor but don’t expect too much change in its size and shape.
The things that we do know about the Veyron successor is that it will most probably be powered by an updated version of the same 8.0 Litre W-16 quad turbocharged unit, however this engine will also have a hybrid twin too which will most probably powering the higher variant. Expected the updated engine to produce about 1500 Hp of peak power or even more, this powerful engine will help the Veyron successor to accelerate from 0-100 km/h mark in less than 2.5 seconds. We also expect the topspeed to be a lot higher than the Veyron.
