BMW X5 and GT to be made in India

BMW X5 and GT to be made in India

BMW is one of the most popular global luxury car manufacturer and they have been in the Indian market for quite some time now. This particular German brand blessed the Indian consumers with some interesting products which not only offers premium luxury to the occupants inside but are equally nifty performer on road.

Recently things were not going along well for them and last year BMW’s two of the biggest rivals have scored fairly well in terms of sales but BMW struggled to keep up with the pace. So in order to overcome their losses BMW shifted its entire attention to complete localization of all their products which are being sold in India. The German Luxury premium car manufacturer is also planning to introduce two new vehicles the GT and X5 which will be made entirely in India instead of being imported directly via the CBU (Complete Built unit) route.

The localization of all these products will help the manufacturers to price these products more aggressively which in turn will attract more attention of the consumers and increase sells figures which in turn will help the manufacturer make profitable growth at the same time.

Robert Frittrang, managing director, BMW India, who also happens to be the person responsible behind running the manufacturing plant in Chennai said that nearly 95 percent of all the cars sold in India are made locally and according to BMW’s recent global strategy they will make more cars locally than importing them via the CBU route but they promise to do it without compromising on build quality or luxury.

He also added that BMW will soon launch the Gran Turismo followed by the X5 SUV in India which has a good reputation of being world’s largest-selling SUV.
