2017 BMW 5 Series To Launch In June

The new generation 5 series will be replacing the old model and will get three engine options under its hood

There is no doubt that the 5-series sedan is one of the most popular cars on the Indian market from BMW, it also happens to be the second best-selling model after the 3-series. BMW unveiled the new 5-series back in 2016, and it has replaced the F10 model which has been for sale in the Indian market for quite some time now. The new 5-Series has stepped into its seventh generation and is called G30/G31/G32 internally.

It is not too hard to imagine that the new generation 5 series has taken its styling inspiration from the flagship 7-series model. This upcoming sedan will compete directly with the rivals like the new Mercedes E-Class Long wheelbase, Audi A6 and the Jaguar XF. As far as the pricing is concerned the new generation, 5-Series prices will start from around INR. 55 Lakhs(ex-showroom) while the top end variant is expected to be priced at INR. 65 Lakhs.

Irish Skoda dealer takes unique strategy to promote Superb by offering BMW 5 Series test drive

Irish Skoda dealer takes unique strategy to promote Superb by offering BMW 5 Series test drive

Pilsen Auto puts BMW’s luxury sedan against Skoda’s mid size flagship sedan

Many automobile dealers take different strategies to sell the cars. But an Irish Skoda dealer took such an initiative, which you can’t see usually. Pilsen Auto is a Skoda dealer based in Dublin. They have been offering a test drive of a BMW 5 Series luxury sedan to compare it with the Skoda’s midsize sedan Superb. They have been trying to convince the buyers that the Superb is much better option than the BMW 5 Series. Quite a daring marketing strategy I must say.

The all new Skoda Superb sedan comes with an appealing exterior design, which is very sharp and stylish and of course upmarket. The car offers plenty of features inside the cabin as well. Moreover it is quite cheaper than the BMW 5 Series luxury sedan. In Ireland, the Skoda Superb is priced at € 26995 which is equivalent to INR. 20.48 lakh, while the BMW 5 Series gets a starting price tag of € 45200, equivalent to INR. 34.29 lakh. So, the Skoda dealer was very much confident about convincing their customers with the all new Skoda Superb over the BMW 5 Series.

The Skoda Superb gets a total of 5 TSI petrol engines and 3 TDI engines on offer. The petrol variants come with power outputs between 125 PS to 280 PS, while the diesel variants of Skoda Superb offers power outputs between 120 PS to 190 PS. The transmission duty is done by a 6 speed manual and a 7 speed DSG automatic gearbox.

On the other hand the BMW 5 Series gets power from engines ranging between 1.5 litre, 2.0 litre, 3.0 litre and a 4.4 litre engines. The transmission duty in this car is done by an 8 speed automatic gearbox, while there is a 6 speed manual transmission on offer as well.

2017 BMW 5 Series

The 5 Series is not only an important car for BMW in the International market but in the Indian market as well. The mid-size luxury market has many new as well updated competitors but the 5 Series in particular fulfills every need of the customer for those who wants a spacious car for the family or even for those executive bosses who prefers a chauffeur driven luxury sedan and last but not the least for those who wants a sportier variant there is always the option to get their hands on the M5 which is one of the most preferred M vehicles from the Bavarian luxury auto giants stable. All in all we want to mean that the 5 series played a significant role for BMW in the past and will keep on playing the same role even in the future.

Talking about future our spy photographers were able to capture next generation 5 series while it was being tested for the very first time at Nurburgring race track. Now almost after a year the next prototype was caught once again carrying what seemed to us like a production body and that is also the reason why that it was wrapped in heavy camouflage.

The next generation 5 series will definitely get some significant cosmetic upgrades which we think will most probably be limited to the front and rear profile of the car. In terms of technology just like the new generation BMW cars the new 5 series too will deploy the CRPF technology. While the drivetrains will also be worked to extract more fuel efficiency and perhaps more power at the same time.

The 2013 BMW 5-Series LCI will be the last of the F10 generation 5-Series sedans and paves the way for the sixth generation 5-Series which is due to arrive in 2016. 2017 BMW 5-Series to Get 3-pot Diesel; New M5 With 600 hp

News from BMW. CAR Magazine has dug up some interesting information about the next generation BMW 5-Series. Dubbed the G30 by insiders, the new BMW 5-Series will use some unconventional engines and will also spawn a new M5 super saloon. If recent reports are true, then the next M5 could be powered by a 600 horsepower engine and still be "planet-friendly".

The new 5-Series will spawn a wide array of body styles including a long-wheel base limousine, a Gran Tursismo version and a touring/estate model. Yes, the GT will be back and lets hope this time the designers get it right. Apart from the aesthetic upgrade, the new 5’er will be lighter than before and of course more efficient.

BMW will also offer all-wheel drive versions of the 5-Series apart from the standard rear-wheel drive setup. The xDrive models are more popular with the average buyer of the 5-Series Touring.

Big news or shall we say unconfirmed report about the next generation M5 is that, the car will use aluminium and carbon fiber to cut weight and will be powered by a 600 horsepower engine. A self-driving mode will also make its debut on the new 5-Series. So if you don’t fancy driving your BMW, which is rare if you own one, it would drive itself, apparently.

2010 BMW 5-Series GT

Just imagine how boring the automobile world would have been if manufacturers were not willing to push boundaries and were content in always keeping it simple. Mercedes would have made only luxury saloons, Toyota would have stuck to affordable sedans and BMW would have made only executive saloons. Luckily, manufacturers want to do everything and in doing that aim to create something truly exceptional and unique. From being known only as an executive saloon manufacturer, BMW has given us the legendry M series of cars and SUV’s and SAV’s more recently. The 5-series Gran Turismo is another attempt by the manufacturer to push the envelope by developing a car offering the driving position of a SUV, versatility of a hatchback and the space of a saloon. Whatever it is, the 5-series GT is luxurious and spacious boosting sporty performance. And though it is called the “5 Series GT”, the car shares its platform with the 7 Series. In India the GT is available with a 3-litre diesel and is priced at Rs 65,66,659 ex -showroom New Delhi.
