Suzuki Ignis & India Made Baleno Gets Nominated For 2017 World Car Of The Year Award (WCOTY)
According to the latest reports both the Suzuki Ignis as well as the Baleno has been nominated for the 2017 World Car of the Year award in the new ‘Urban Car’ category. Ford EcoSport’s 1.0 litre EcoBoost wins ‘Best Engine under 1.0 litre’ award

McLaren 570GT makes world debut at 2016 Geneva Motor Show
Mclaren Automotive has debuted the 570GT its newest addition to the Sports Series in Geneva. The supercar is essentially a 570S with more emphasis paid to everyday usability and comfort over long distances. The car is priced in the UK from £154,000 (INR 1,45,98,105) onwards.
At first glance the 570GT does not seem to differ much from its sibling the 570S, and that is probably due to the fact that it has the same front end. The similarities begin to fade away as the view progresses from the sides to the rear. The standard fixed panoramic sunroof and the side-opening rear hatch being the highlights. The leather-lined Touring Deck behind the seats can hold an additional 220 litres of luggage. This space can be accessed through the rear glass hatch and when combined with the 150 litres of luggage space upfront gives a total storage capacity of 370 litres. The posterior also comes with an extended fixed spoiler, with McLaren claiming that it gives the same aerodynamic performance as that generated by the flying buttresses of the 570S.
McLaren says that the 570GT has been equipped with the “latest technologies and highest quality materials”. They have equipped the supercar with extended leather upholstery, electrically adjustable heated seats with memory function, electric steering column, soft-close doors, subdued exhaust system and, front and rear parking sensors as standard fitment. Noise damping and absorbing materials have also been employed extensively to improve the refinements level inside the cabin. An 8-speaker McLaren Audio Plus system is fitted as standard but for those who want more, there is an optional Bowers & Wilkins 12-speaker audio system.
Land Rover Discovery Sport, Defender & India Bound Jaguar XE Honoured With Scottish Car of the Year Awards
Jaguar XE, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Land Rover Defender are three best selling vehicles from British luxury auto maker Jaguar Land Rover. All these three vehicles won awards at the prestigious “Scottish Car of the Year Awards” ceremony.
The India bound luxury sedan XE from Jaguar won the “Best Executive Car” awards, while it also won the “Best Design and Innovation” awards at the same event back in 2014. Commenting about the vehicle Alisdair Suttie, the President of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers, has said, "With its fine lines penned by Scotsman Ian Callum, the Jaguar XE is as good looking as executive saloons come. It has abilities to match its looks, with first rate ride, refinement, driving dynamics and efficiency." The new Jaguar XE will be showcased at the upcoming 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo by the British marquee. Once launched, it will be the cheapest offering from Jaguar in India, and it will compete against the likes of Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes Benz C-Class and the Volvo S60. The Jaguar XE is built on an all new lightweight aluminium intensive monocoque body frame. Under the hood it gets a 3.0 litre 6 cylinder all aluminum Twin-Vortex supercharger engine, paired with a ZF 8HP45 8 speed automatic gearbox, capable to churn out 344 PS peak power and 450 Nm peak torque. The XE can reach 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kmph.
Hyundai Creta garnered success instantly after its launch in last July. Jaguar is really making some news especially in terms of design after Ian Callum, took the responsibility on his Shoulder. Under his direction we have seen the stylish F-Type come alive and started ruling the streets from the year 2013 and now another car carrying the Jaguar logo has bagged the award of the ‘Most Beautiful Car of 2014’ at the 30th edition of Festival Automobile International in Paris.

The XE won the title with 28 percent of votes; previously it also has won the title of ’Best Production Car’ by Auto Plus magazine and the listeners of French radio station, RTL.

Volkswagen Group has received the World Environment Center’s (WEC) 30th Anniversary Gold Medal award.
This award was received by the manufacturer for their comprehensive commitment to environmental preservation and eco-mobility. The award was handed to Christian Klingler, member of the Board of Directors of Volkswagen Group of America, and member of Volkswagen AG’s Board of Management responsible for Sales & Marketing in a ceremony held in Washington D.C. on 15th May. Volkswagen won this award in an evaluation process through a global competition with companies in multiple business sectors by WEC’s independent Gold Medal Jury which was chaired by Dr. Joel Abrams, Professor Emeritus at the University of Pittsburgh.
Volkswagen Group has received this award because of this manufacturer’s comprehensive approach to sustainability that infuses eco-conscious behaviors in all aspects of its operations. This includes definite sets of principles at the time of building a car. Volkswagen Group of America’s factory in Chattanooga, Tenn., happens to be the house of their model Passat and is the sole auto manufacturing plant in the world which have earned the platinum-certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) from the U.S. Green Building Council. This is because this plant conserves about 720,000 kilowatts of energy yearly by the process of insulation, that too made by some recycled materials and rock wool. This plant has saved more than 6 million gallons of water, till now, through the collection and storage of rainwater. Chevrolet India has won two awards for its marketing excellence.
The first for their newly designed Chevrolet India website and their successful ‘Enjoy Voyage’ pre launch campaign that was initiated the previous year. The two awards include a prestigious gold award and a Bronze award given by the ‘DMAi’ Awards which are conducted annually to honor the excellence in marketing and advertising. Those companies who raise the bar of originality, response strategy, interactivity and impact of their marketing receive this award.
The prestigious gold award received by Chevrolet is for its newly designed Indian website, the site has been made keeping in view the global Chevrolet standards. The bronze award received by the company is for its Enjoy’s pre-launch campaign ‘Enjoy Voyage’ which proved to be quite successful too. On the wee period of this year, Chevrolet also bagged the NDTV Car & Bike Awards 2014 ‘Best Integrated Marketing Campaign’ for itself. This means that Chevrolet’s marketing strategy has become quite powerful in India.

Toyota claimed that their Corolla sedan is the best-selling car in 2013 with internal data confirming the sale of 1.22 million sales worldwide. The figures for the calendar year 2013 have been calculated by Toyota Motor Sales in the United States of America using independent Polk new vehicle registration data from HIS Automotive, which claims to capture as much as 96 percent of the new vehicle registrations, globally. The same data confirms with the sale of 1,098,524 units, Toyota Corolla is the world’s best-selling model.
The figures included all the other variants bearing the Toyota name on them. Like Corolla Axlo, Corolla Altis (Indian market) and Corolla EX trim level of the Corolla saloon available in the Japanese market and many other markets of the world. The figures also include Fielder and Rumion hatchbacks, which are also Corolla-badged.
The strong numbers indicate the popularity of the Toyota Corolla and since its introduction in 1966; the particular model has a record 40.72 million cumulative sales till the end of February 2014.
Earlier this year, Toyota unveiled the new Corolla Altis at Auto Expo 2014 in India. The dealers have already started taking the bookings while the launch date has been set for May 27th.
The "World Car of the Year 2014" was announced at the ongoing New York International Auto show. This year’s contenders for the coveted prize included the first ever BMW 4 Series, Mazda3 and the Audi A3 sedan.
It was a tight battle between the two Germans, but in the end the Audi A3 took the top honors to be named the "World Car of the Year 2014". So, what is so special about the A3 that made the judges vote for it?

The Hyundai Grand i10 won the 2014 JK Indian Car of The Year (ICOTY) which is one of the most prestigious award of the Country. Hyundai Grand i10 won this prestigious award beating two other strong finalists the Honda Amaze and the Ford Ecosport.

The ICOTY car of the year were judged on the following parameters including performance, practicality, fuel efficiency, suitability for Indian driving conditions, styling, comfort, safety and value for money etc. Amongst the Motorcycle category the newly launched Royal Enfield Continental GT won this prestigious award.
Previous year the European automobile manufacturer Renault won this particular award and this year the Korean manufacturer was successful in winning this prestigious award. Hyundai sold more than 35,000 units of the Grand I10 since its launch in the month of September, 2013, the Grand i10 definitely is the most capable contender and surely a segment winner.

Tata Nano has been awarded as the most Trusted car amongst all hatchback cars in the "Brand Trust Report, India Study – 2013". The India study 2013, listed 1100 most trusted brands from 211 categories out of 19,000 brands that was selected for the study purpose. After a lot of research and study Trust Research Advisory selected Tata Nano as the winner.
