Audi launched the most expensive car at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo in form of Audi R8 V10 Plus, which is also the fastest Audi ever produced. The Audi pavilion was full of exotic machines, and it received one of the largest footfalls of the Auto Expo. Here in this video Aditya Patel, the Audi India Race talent gives us a walkaround view of the Audi India pavilion at the Auto Expo.
Audi Prologue concept was showcased at the Auto Expo, which looks a stylish car blended with sportiness and fit to deliver a premium luxurious experience. We hope we will see a production version soon. On the sporty front Audi R8 V10 Plus was the most hyped car of the show. It gets a 5.2 litre FSI engine under the hood, which churns out 610 PS peak power. A blue Audi RS7 was at the pavilion and it is a performance luxury car which is also the fastest RS variant from the German automaker and it produces 605 PS peak power. Audi TT is an well known car and we have seen a yellow one at the expo. The car gets power from a 2.0 litre TFSI engine good to kick out 230 PS peak power, and it can reach 0-100 kmph in just 5.3 seconds. Oooh, that’s pretty fast. A blood red gorgeous Audi S3 cabriolet was at the centre of attraction for several people. It gets power from a 2.0 litre motor which pumps out 300 PS. The German luxury brand also showcased the Audi SQ5, Audi A6 allroad quatrro and flagship SUV Audi Q7 which was launched a few days ago.
There has been a lot of excitement about the new Audi A3 sedan since the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo where it was first showcased on Indian soil. The A3 is set to be the next entry-level Audi after the Q3 SUV. Now, according to reports, Audi is also planning to launch the performance version of the A3, called the S3 along with the base sedan.
The S3 launch could precede the official launch of the A3 sedan and will be offered at a slightly higher price point. The A3 is the main rival for the Mercedes-Benz CLA Class which is also touted for the Indian market.
The Audi S3 is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI petrol engine that produces 296 horsepower. The base A3, on the other hand could be offered with a 1.8-liter petrol and and 1.6-liter diesel mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The sportier S3 will instead get a 6-speed S-Tronic.
Audi’s top-down strategy for the Indian market seems to be paying dividends for the Ingolstadt based automaker. The company has been able to capture a substantial chunk of the market, especially in the premium segment. The Audi A3 sedan will offer customers immaculate quality at a very affordable price. Then, for those who want a bit more, the S3 would be a great option.
Audi India showcased the brand new A3 sedan at this year’s Delhi Auto Expo. The A3 has been long seen as a premium sedan that could fit under the A4 in the Indian market. At launch the A3 sedan is expected to cost anywhere between INR 22- 23 lakh.
In India, the A3 will be powered by a 1.8-liter TSI petrol and a staple 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. The A3 is built around a lightweight architecture which should make it faster than the A4. While, we are waiting for the A3 to arrive, there’s another exciting version of the car they make. I am talking about the S3 and here’s a small video of the car.
