Finally after a long wait Audi has decided to unveil the Q8 concept SUV at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) which will begin after few weeks. This will obviously be positioned above their current flagship Q7 SUV and will also be more premium than the existing vehicle. Although the concept has not been officially unveiled yet but the Audi officials did reveal some interesting facts about the vehicle which will be showcased at the auto show.
The reports also states that not only this new upcoming vehicle Q8 concept will be bigger than the Q7 but will be a Coupe styled Crossover which will compete directly with other Coupe Crossovers from BMW, Mercedes and Range Rover.

Although the car has not been unveiled yet but the German publication was able to get a sneak peek of the soon to be unveiled concept. The new Q8 Concept will underpin MLB-Evo platform which also underpins the Q7 as well. If we talk about styling the image clearly reveals that the upcoming concept definitely looks sharp. The headlamps unit looks similar to the ones found in Audi’s newer cars and SUV’s but this concept gets a slightly different looking integrated LED taillamps. The front grille looks huge as well and also gets the Audi logo. The front will also get huge air inlets which will channel cold air to the powertrain. Expect the side profile to look more like a sports coupe and less boxy. The side profile will get big wheel arches and bigger wheels which will add a sporty character. While the sloping roofline will add the coupe feel to it. Although the rear profile has not been revealed yet but you can expect it to get a full LED taillamps and a sporty rear bumper just like the ones you will notice towards the front.
No images of the interior are available at this moment neither any details but we can assure that the new Q8 will be more premium than the Q7 SUV and will also come loaded with plenty of hi-tech features that has never ever seen before in an Audi car.
Expect the new Audi Q8 to get both the V6 and V8 petrol as well as the diesel drivetrains under its hood but besides that Audi also has plans to introduce an alternate fuel powertrain as well which will be powerful and environment friendly at the same time. Now this either could be a plugin hybrid powertrain or an all electric powertrain as well.
According to Autocar UK you can expect the upcoming SUV prices to start from £50,000 (INR. 48.30 lakhs), while the range topping variant will be priced at around £90,000 (INR. 87 lakhs).
