Audi’s RS division has always stood for performance. They in fact used to make some of the best sleeper cars that came out of Germany. Serious performance with subtle understated styling has always been an RS trait. That isn’t the case these days is it? Regardless, it looks like the German Automaker is finally on a roll in India and is finally building back its portfolio after ditching diesels. The Luxury Automaker debuted its latest RS 5 four-door Sportback coupe on Monday and we’re really excited.

Speaking at the launch event, Balbir Singh Dhillon,Head of Audi India, stated that the car is best suited for those clients who desire a car that is an all-rounder. The RS5 is a blend of opulence and power. Unlike some true exotics, here is a car that offers ballistic performance that’s actually usable. He further added that all of Audi’s sports models that have made it here, over the years have been well received by customers in India.

The 2021 RS5 receives several cosmetic upgrades. The car sports a bigger front grille, all-new LED headlights as well as taillights along with a reworked front and rear bumper. The facelift model also gets 19-inch alloy wheels and a dual exhaust system. The new RS5 is available in a range of colors that include Glacier White, Nardo Grey, Tango Red, Turbo Blue, Navara Blue, Mythos Black, Daytona Grey, and Sonoma Green.

As with the exterior, the cabin also receives several updates which include an all-new digital driver display or Virtual Cockpit and Audi’s latest MMI infotainment system. The swivel wheel control that was used to control the MMI system on the older car has now been replaced by cubby holes. Apart from that, the RS5 retains features like:

  • Ambient Interior Lighting
  • Panoramic Sunroof
  • Three-zone Climate Control
  • Heated and Auto-Dimming ORVMs
  • A Shattering 180W 10-Speaker Sound System

As far as safety goes, this latest RS5 comes with front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors.

The Audi RS5 Sportback features a 2.9 liter V-6 Twin Turbo TFSI engine that produces 450 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. It can demolish 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 kmph.

It also packs Audi’s legendary Quattro all-wheel-drive system with a self-locking center differential that is designed to distribute power evenly between both front and rear axles. The car is equipped with two RS modes which alter the suspension settings as well as the drive characteristics of the all-wheel-drive system.
