Maruti has officially initiated bookings for the new 2019 Baleno model that will be launched in 2-3 weeks time from now. The 2019 Maruti Baleno will not get any major alterations and changes are purely cosmetic. Prospective customers can visit any of the Nexa showrooms to block and book their new Baleno.
We don’t see Maruti changing the pricing of the new Baleno. Changes in the 2019 Maruti Baleno will include a new bumper up front with revised styling. The car will also get tweaks to the headlamps and a new grille. On the side, the Baleno will get new dual tone theme alloy wheels which look far better than the current model. No major changes are expected at the rear.
2019 Maruti Baleno engine options
The 2019 Maruti Baleno will continue to come with a pair of engine options. The petrol is the same 1.2 unit that we see on the Swift, Dzire and the new Wagon R and this can be hand with a 5 speed manual or a CVT transmission. Not only are the NVH or noise, vibration, harshness levels excellent, but performance is nice. The CVT option is a boon for city usage and offers better economy than its manual counterpart. The diesel Baleno uses the tried and tested 1.3 unit that we see in everything from the Ciaz to the Ertiga and the Swift / Dzire. Though noisy, the engine offers excellent punch and can be a joy to drive fast. This one comes mated to a 5 speed manual ‘box.
The 2019 Maruti Baleno will lock horns with cars like the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Honda Jazz. Both the rivals also offer a petrol / diesel line-up including optional CVT with the petrol unit. Prices for the current Baleno start at Rs 5.4 lakh for the petrol line-up and Rs 6.5 lakh for the diesel range. Besides that, the RS version might be discontinued owing to poor sales. Fingers crossed.
