The compact sedan segment is flourishing fast in India and Maruti Suzuki was one of the first auto manufacturers who launched their product in this segment and it was called the Swift Dzire which was built exclusively on their popular Swift hatchback platform. This car was able to steal many Indian hearts and is counted as one of the top players of its segment although it faces some tough competition from other equally worthy cars. Recently we have seen plenty of other manufacturer too stepped in the market with their brand new products and that is perhaps the reason why one of the most experience auto manufacturers of the Country decided to give their compact sedan a new lease of life and this is the same reason why Maruti launched the facelift Swift Dzire in the Indian market.
The facelift Dzire surely brings with it an array of changes both on its exterior as well as interior while it also gets some mechanical tweaks under its hood to keep things up to date. Although it still remains to be powered by the same 1.2 litre K series petrol engine and a 1.3 litre DDIS diesel engine, the diesel engine has received some tweaks and it now manages to deliver 26.59 Km to a litre which also helps it to win the crown of being India’s most fuel efficient car.

Honestly! The Swift Dzire was never considered a good looking or well proportioned car mostly because of its odd rear profile styling but people loved it because it comes out from the stable of one of the most trusted brands of all time. The facelift Dzire surely looks better than it’s the pre-facelift variant and all the credit goes to the newly designed single slat front grille which gets lot of chrome on it while the front bumper also has been refreshed and finished in body color. While the fog lamps has been finished in Bezel and completed with chrome accents. The Dzire also gets new set of alloy wheels which further up’s the styling quotient. While towards the rear there are absolutely n o changes at all.
Overall the facelift Swift Dzire looks identical to the car it replaces but beside the above mentioned cosmetic upgrades there are absolutely no changes made to the exterior of this compact sedan.

The interior of this facelift sedan too remains almost the same beside few Knicks and knacks that we already have seen on the new Swift hatchback afterall this Dzire is the same Swift hatchback with an additional boot. However we need to mention here that the Dzire too gets some new updates which come in the form of a new Push Start button, an electrically adjustable folding rear mirror, parking sensors and updated infotainments system with Bluetooth and also rear power socket. Surely the Dzire interiors are comfortable and get many convenient features as well however some tall people may complain about the limited leg room at the rear seat.
Disappointingly the Dzire still carries the same old powertrain under the hood even in this facelift variant they launched recently. The petrol variant is powered by the 1.2 Litre K Series Petrol engine which produces about 84.3 Ps of peak power at 6000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. While the diesel variant gets the 1.3 litre DDIS unit which produces about 75 Ps of peak power at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. The good thing however is the fact that the diesel unit of the compact sedan now has been reworked and it now returns an amazing 26.59 Km to a litre of fuel which is an improvement of about 13 % while the petrol unit comes with an improved efficiency of 9 percent and it now returns a certified fuel efficiency of 20.85 kmpl. The petrol engine comes mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox while there is also an option of a 4 speed automatic gearbox while the diesel variant gets 5 speed manual.

The Honda Amaze surely stays on top of the list when people actually think of getting a compact sedan for themselves or their family. It was launched by Honda back in 2013 and since then it is one popular car of its segment.
