TVS reveals about its Akula launch in Indonesia
Working on a somewhat similar frame as the KTM-Bajaj, TVS took the jump with BMW Motorrad, especially after their stunt with Suzuki did not quite hit the cord. Both TVS and BMW will be sharing and developing platforms together to distribute products locally and the global stage. This joint venture will benefit TVS by bringing in investments and expertise to further broaden their R&D capability to improve on existing projects and bring in new innovations across their product lineup. In fact, TVS has already showcased a concept, touted to be the flagship motorcycle for the company.
According to OTOMOTIFNET.COM, Mr Aditya Putra from Corporate Communication of PT TVS Motor Company, Indonesia, confirmed to them that TVS plans to bring a new sports product, to Indonesia in the first half of 2017. And we believe it is the Akula 310. The Akula 310 will, however, be christened as the Apache RTR 300 in India.
2017 (Maruti) Suzuki Ignis Motocross Style Edition
Only yesterday we have reported that Suzuki has showcased the new Swift Racer RS concept which was based on the new generation Swift although no details of the production variant is out yet but there is a fair chance that Suzuki might introduce it first in the markets of Japan and then perhaps it might also land on the Indian shores sometimes in the near future. Now at the same show Suzuki showcased another sportier variant of the Ignis Crossover which was launched here in India last week only.
Just like what we have seen on the Swift Racer RS Concept exhibition cars, the Ignis Crossover too has been given a unique cosmetic upgrade too. Called the Ignis Motocross Style Edition, this is the same Ignis Crossover with all the added colours.
The Ignis Crossover was launched recently and is positioned below the Vitara Brezza SUV. The car is being sold in the Indian market via Maruti’s Nexa dealership and is offered with both diesel and petrol powertrain options. Transmission on offer is a 5 speed manual as standard and an AMT offered as optional with both petrol and diesel variants.

2017 Renault Kwid Live For More Edition
Renault launched their entry level KWID budget offering back in 2015 and this hatchback instantly went to become hot favourite for many Indian customers who wanted a stylish looking, features packed car within a budget. The KWID went on to compete with some other entry level hatchbacks from manufacturers like Maruti and Hyundai. Recently back in 2016 Renault introduced a new variant of the hatchback which was powered by a slightly more powerful 1.0 Liter unit. Transmission options offered were a 5 speed manual as standard and an AMT unit which is offered only with the 1.0 Liter variant only besides the standard 5 speed manual unit.
Until Now Renault already sold more than 1 Lakh unit of the KWID hatchback in India and to celebrate the success of their new hatchback the French car manufacturer has introduced a new special edition variant of the KWID.
Called the Kwid Live For More Edition, this new special edition model is offered with both 800 cc and the slightly more powerful 1.0 Litre variant as well. Now although the changes to the special edition model are limited to cosmetics only still we are pretty sure that you all will love what Renault has offered with this special edition hatchback.

2017 Maruti Swift Racer RS Concept
Suzuki unveiled the all new generation Swift hatchback in Japan towards the last week of December 2016 and being one of the most popular models of the Indian market expect this all new hatchback to make it to the Indian shores by the second half of 2017. But before that at the Tokyo Motor Salon Suzuki has showcased the slightly sportier Concept variant of the Swift hatchback. Dubbed as the Swift Racer RS this sportier variant of the hatch gets new livery and some added cosmetic updates over the standard variant.
There were rumours that Suzuki has plans to introduce a slightly sportier and powerful variant of the Swift hatchback. Although still in its concept form there is a fair chance of the production variant of this concept car making it to the Indian market sometimes in the near future. This may compete directly with some other hot hatchbacks of India like that of Fiat.

Did You All Watch The New TVS Apache 200 TVC: Video
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has launched a new TVC for their most power motorcycle in the RTR series. The new TVC completely focuses on the motorcycles racing DNA as the rider unleashes that on the track.
The video showcases TVS distilled spirit of racing. The TVS racing rider astride the new motorcycle and takes off and accelerates up to 60 kmph from standstill in just 3.9 seconds. The Apache RTR 200 gets many racing equipment and features like Pirelli tyres, race spec speedometer, KVB mono shock suspension setup which has been race tuned for perfection and derived OC3 technology in the engine.
During the time of the launch, TVS said that they will offer their new motorcycle with both Carburetted as well fuel injected variants. The motorcycle gets C-shaped LED DRL’s, more powerful headlamps, the new instrument cluster looks bigger and provides plenty of information like the digital clock and speedometer situated in the central display along with a fuel tank indicator and Lap timer.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V recently also won the 2016 Indian Motorcycle of The Year award. The Streetfighter is powered by a 197.75 cc 4 stroke, oil cooled engine capable of producing about 21 PS peak power at 8,500 rpm and 18 Nm peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
2017 RE Himalayan, Classic 500 & Bullet 500 Launched In UK Gets Updated With ABS & Euro IV Compliant Engine
Royal Enfield surely seems to be taking some big steps; they have recently showcased the updated 2017 Classic, Bullet and Continental GT Cruisers with an updated Euro IV complaint engine and duel channel ABS setup. Besides the new ABS setup both these motorcycles also features a rear disc brakes as well which was missing in the earlier variant.
For all your information the 2017 models are now already on sale in the markets of UK with Cooper B which is actually a Royal Enfield Dealer in UK. 2017 Ford Ecosport Spotted With New Touchscreen System
We already have shared the information that Ford will be launching an updated 2017 variant of the existing Ecosport in India before they actually bring in the facelift variant of the compact SUV which was showcased at the 2016 New York Auto show towards the end of this year.
We also have reported that the My 2017 Ecosport Titanium+ variant exclusively will get a completely new 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system for the very first time which will be an upgrade from the current unit. Today we have got our hands on some spy images of the updated 2017 Ecosport variant which were clicked by Mr. Nagaraj Muthuswamy of Ford EcoSport Owners & Fans Facebook page.
The completely new touchscreen infotainment system gets integrated with features like satellite navigation system, DVD player, Door Ajar warning. While the Screen also doubles up and projects images when the rear view camera is active.
Apart from the touchscreen infotainment system MY 2017 Ecosport also sports a new and chunky 17 inch alloy wheels which has been borrowed from the Ecosport sold in the other International markets. The new wheels also get wrapped with 205/50/R17 rubber. However expect these new set of wheels to also be exclusive to the top end Titanium+ variant only.
Unfortunately Ford India has actually decided to delete some of the features which were available with the current Ecosport in this new 2017 variant. The list of features includes driver seat armrest, cooled glove box, leather-wrapped handbrake and gear shift knob etc.

2018 Suzuki Gymny/ Maruti Gypsy
Rumours suggest that Maruti might reintroduce the Gypsy in the Indian market in the coming years. According to the latest reports Suzuki might manufacture the next generation Jimny in India. The Jimny was showcased last time at the 2012 Auto Expo and it received quite a positive response from the people. Although there is not much depth in the possibilities right now but the next generation Jimny perhaps might be sold in India as the next generation Gypsy.
For all your information the Gypsy was the long wheelbase version of the Gymny compact SUV. Some of the reports also suggests that the next generation compact SUV will actually be built on the same lightweight platform which also underpins the current Baleno and the Ignis Crossover and hatchback. KTM To Launch RC200 & RC390 In India On 19th January 2017
KTM officially announced that they will be launching the 2017 RC200 and RC390 in India on 19th January 2017. The RC series motorcycles gets some minor cosmetic updates which comes in the form of new colour updates. While the more powerful RC390 gets some mechanical upgrades as well.
The KTM RC390 gets a slightly bigger 300 mm disc brakes towards the front and a completely new side mounted exhaust system which has been constructed of lightweight materials to keep the overall weight down. The RC390 is still powered by the same 373 cc, single cylinder liquid cooled engine which is capable of producing about 44 ps of peak power and 36 Nm of torque. The torque amount has been increased by 1 Nm. The engine is still paired to the same 6 speed gearbox.
The RC200 on the other hand is still powered by the 199.5 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled unit which is capable of producing about 25 Bhp of peak power and around 19 Nm of torque. This engine too is paired to a 6 speed gearbox. There has been no mechanical changes made to the RC200 engine however expect both the engine to be complaint to the BSIV emission norms.
Maruti To Launch Ignis Crossover Tomorrow!
Maruti is all set to launch the Ignis Crossover tomorrow in India. Like you already know that the Crossover will be sold in the Indian market via the Nexa dealership alongside the Baleno and the S-Cross. The Ignis Crossover first made its debut at the 2016 Indian auto expo and was showcased alongside the Baleno RS hatchback. The side profile gets slightly bigger wheels while the overall profile gets Boxy design the rear profile gets LED taillamps which actually goes well with the overall design.
